I used these crushed tomatoes for pasta sauce and homemade soup, and overall I was really pleased with the quality. The tomatoes taste fresh and flavorful without being overly acidic, which made my sauce taste much more homemade. I also like that the texture is thick enough for cooking without needing to simmer forever to reduce extra liquid. They worked especially well with garlic, herbs, and ground beef. However, I did notice a few larger tomato pieces than expected, so the consistency wasn’t perfectly smooth. The can was easy to open though, and the portion size was generous. Overall, these crushed tomatoes are a great pantry staple for everyday cooking and simple recipes.

Love the Whole Foods line of many products, but especially their organic canned tomatoes and pasta. Saute a few cloves of garlic in olive oil, add a can of this sauce, along with some oregano and a pinch of red pepper flakes, a pinch of sugar, for a quickie homemade and fresh tasting pan sauce. I could drink this. No, really.

Delicious crushed tomatoes with basil, ice flavor and it doesn’t have a metallic taste, which is a winner in my book.
