Ordered for use with electronic piano with music desk too fragile to support clip-on lamp; flexibility and extent of beam ok, clear white light easy on eyes, doesn't get hot. Haven't tried remote as manual controls easy to reach and simple to operate.Although base is heavy it's inclined to wobble a bit on carpet, probably more stable on solid floor.NB Do follow instructions, assembly advice about power cable from previous reviewer is helpful especially about gently pulling it outwards where it emerges from lamp standard, to avoid damage while screwing parts together; would advise laying it out flat & full length to assemble and don't rush it. Slightly unnerving to discover after assembly that a nut and bolt and 2 plastic discs remained unaccounted for, have assumed they're part of packaging rather than lamp....?

After much research to ensure the right reading lamp was purchased, I am not disappointed. The brightness is perfect to replicate daylight reading (and I’ve had lens replacement). The only tricky part is to assemble the two twist rods because the inner cable is long (which makes it tricky to screw the last rods together because of access cable). After a few trials I suggest you fit the top rods first (where buttons are) And then (ask someone else to hold the top end horizontally whilst you keep Turing the last rod 1) first turn/twist so the cable begins to tighten up and then 2) as cable length decreases keep turning / twisting until the rods get nearer and nearer so they can be connected... it’s easier to connect rods if done this way... the base is straight forward to attach and lamp sturdy once assembled. A great lamp and will order for another room.

So for me, perhaps I got unlucky as the base was quite wobbly, and other reviews have said it is very sturdy!As others have said, it’s easy to sort out the wire issue! When you are screwing the poles together, just gently pull the wire through the hole in the side of the bottom pole to ensure it’s snug and doesn’t bend or get forced as you join the pieces together.I didn’t want to have to send it back, but when I screwed the base on, I had a problem. I could tighten it and then it would wiggle loose, or I would tighten it and then it would lose the screw thread completely. I bodged it together by screwing it in with a bit of tissue inside the screw thread! It’s clearly not a solution for everyone, but it worked for me! The lamp is great, it fits under my sofa and in a very small space, so it will be a great reading lamp! It’s right next to me so I won’t need to use the remote as the controls are quite high up the unit and easily reached. So all in all a great lamp — I think I just got unlucky with the base not screwing in completely securely.

I badly needed a craft light to make things easier to see when I sew or cut fabrics, or make cards. This light is fantastic - all the different brightness levels are so handy and make a huge difference to my work. It's when you have it on its brightest setting, then switch it off, you realise just how powerful it is...all other lights don't compare. Makes crafting so much more enjoyable. I got one for my sister last Christmas and she recommended it so I ordered it recently. Leaving it on its dimmest setting adds atmosphere to the room too. My only quibble is with the assembly. What looked easy in the instructions really involved a bit of a battle to get the cable which is in the centre of both the top piece of the stand and the bottom piece, to squash into both pieces, enough to screw one piece into the other, to enable it to stand so you could turn the light on. I had the two pieces on the floor, I tried piecing it together holding a cloth...I thought I would never manage it and that I would have to return it. My sister had the same problem when trying to piece it together too. Other than that, when you get it assembled and working, it's brilliant.

Really happy with this floor lamp. Wanted an LED touch lamp to replace an old halogen one. Sleek design. sturdy heavy base, easy to change brightness and shades with touch or remote. Remote is a useful addition. Versatile with levels of brightness and shades of light.Assembly was a little tricky with the extra cord length. Luckily I had read the reviews before buying and very grateful to the one advising pulling the wire at the bottom. It needed a bit of a tug, it pulled through without breaking. A successful purchase.

Bought as a replacement for a halogen lamp, I was pleasantly suprised at the quality and versatility of this lamp. It's easy to assemble BUT your need to remove the cable clamp at the bottom during assembly to pull the cable to the correct length whilst screwing the sections together. It has a large and heavy base for solidity when free standing. The controls on the stem have the 'power' button lit when power is available. The remote control offer plenty of options. The remote 'remembers' the last setting chosen, important for me as I dislike cycling through options every time a lamp is switched on. Just remember to have AAA x 2 batteries available for the remote. For the price I highly recommend. this lamp.

Easy to set up and use. Very flexible and takes up little floor space. I like it a lot.
