Makes me feel that my data is secure.
This is my second set of two. I have all my important info on them and carry one to keep my data in case something happens to the house while I am gone, stuff does happen. Anyway, I somehow lost one of the original ones and was bummed out. But I am hoping that it works well as I had a large passcode. I did wind up changing all my passwords which I should have done previously. In any case, I like the Datashur's security and got new ones and updated my passcode longer. It is a twitch test to change the passcode as others have noted. After 6 attempts, I got it, LOL! Another thing, in hindsight, is sometimes even if you put in the right code, it doesn't always turn on. I think that is another good thing if someone is trying the million permutations to get into it.

Great! Can use on any operating system
Just what I was looking for! I like having a copy of some documents on a secure drive. Yes, you can use cloud password/file vaults, but I like having the option of having it on a physical drive. With this one, the encryption is built into the thumb drive itself, so there is no software to update in order to use it. Just enter the password on the drive itself and plug it in. This is great because I also have a Chromebook and this works perfectly. Please understand that you have 10 seconds to enter your password, then the drive must be inserted within 30 seconds. No problem. It offers a nice option that lets you set the timeout period after which the drive turns off. Nice if you happen to leave it in your computer that's on. Don't forget your password. After 10 attempts it wipes your drive COMPLETELY, so you lose all your data and need to reformat the drive. Love this drive.

Great option
Although it was a little harder than the instructions say, programming a new security code, this is just what I needed. Now, we can keep abundant information on this and never worry about someone taking or viewing it. We run a home based business and have a couple of these now, all labeled differently, and easy to use, BOOM all of our information is right there.

Well made with excellent security and features.
This usb stick is great for storage that is extra secure. Works by keypad, and encrypts your data, it is excellent to have that added security. It's extremely well made, and the buttons may be small but they give a reassuring click with each press and although the instructions may at first seem complicated, once you know how to use it, it couldn't be easier. Ideal for storage of files protecting personal I.D. and business matters. Exellent product!

DESIGN FLAW: No Human being can type in a ong password IN-TIME.
This was my first DATASHUR product purchased. One CRITICALLY important thing NOT MENTIONED in the product description is that there is a TIMEOUT period of 10 seconds to completely re-type in your newly-chosen password. Since it does allow for alpha-numeric passwords as long as 15 digits, and because it also requires +2 terminating keypresses to finalize your new password selection, this means that you have to actually press SEVENTEEN buttons in less than 10 seconds. (Thats 0.58 seconds per button press) I did try to enter a complete 15-byte password, and was totally UNABLE to make it in time, even after a dozen attempts. Then I tried 10 letters (+2), and could only make it reliably if I WROTE DOWN the password (as DIGITS) furst, and entered it that way. Even so, I couldnt make a 10 digit password in time about 2/3rds of the time. In the end, I had to pick a minimum password length of SEVEN to make it reliably. FINAL verdict, Im quite dissatisfied with the silly 10-second limitation. I think this clearly want Human-Factors tested. There is no way a reasonable person can get 17 key-strokes in within 10 seconds, and practically no way ANYONE can get even a short password in if they have to lift their fingers to find out which numeric keys have the 3-4 specific letters on each key. Forcing users to either pick SHORT passwords, or else WRITE DOWN their passwords (in numeric form) before attempting an unlock seem 100% contrary to the main selling point of these encrypted devices. Aside from the silly timeout period, and de-facto short password solution, I guess Im happy with my purchase. BUT, buyers should be cognisant of the issue, or else the manufacturer should FIX this problem in future releases.

Love the security and quality!
Works perfectly so far! Using the security code is fairly easy, but I wish the buttons were larger. The case makes the item very secure and provides a tight seal to protect against all types of damage.
