More than happy picture crystal clear

I bought these to replace some ageing out of contract ADT cameras that had started to let in rainwater causing picture distortion. These cameras seem to be solidly built; the casing is metal. They worked straight away with the ADT supplied H.264 DVR. The daylight picture quality is certainly not pin sharp but it is about the same as the ones they replaced. The night vision is less good. Unlike the ADT cameras, nothing is adjustable but the default settings seem fine. They are sufficient for my needs and great value for money. I hope they are adequately water resistant but only time will tell. When I ordered these I assumed that all such cameras were of similar size but these are significantly smaller than the ones they replace. That’s no problem apart from the need to drill new mounting holes. Another point that I missed is that, unlike the ADT cameras, there is insufficient space in the base of the mounting to house the connectors. So I had to mount waterproof junction boxes, adjacent to the cameras, for the connections. Overall, if you just need basic picture quality these seem like a good buy although I can’t yet vouch for how weatherproof they will prove to be.

I bought this camera to add to my existing CCTV system, but the performance has been very disappointing. The picture quality is advertised as 1080p, yet the image looks soft and grainy, even in decent daylight. At night, the so-called “super night vision” is anything but – the range is nowhere near what’s claimed, and faces or number plates are just a blur once it gets dark. The build feels cheap as well. Although the casing is meant to be weatherproof, the dome misted up after the first bit of rain, which completely ruined visibility. The mounting bracket is also awkward and doesn’t allow much adjustment, so getting the right angle was frustrating. To make matters worse, there’s no power adapter included, which wasn’t made clear enough in the listing. I had to order one separately, which delayed installation. Overall, this is not a reliable camera for home security. I wouldn’t trust it to capture anything useful in an actual incident. Save your money and invest in something with genuinely clear video and decent night vision.

It works, but....... Bought to replace a720p camera but not good enough IMO. The good bit, great IR illumination at night and wide angle but poor definition / pixslisation. The daytime viewing is also noticably lower quality than 720p. Not an adequaye replacemnt for me unfortunately
