Did not work in my case
I purchased this converter to save myself the trouble of using a dumb switch with sfp+ port as a converter. The setup like that worked fine, I just wanted my switch back. So in comes this media converter. I threw the stick and and plugged it up. Did some testing and realized there was an issue. I was able to pass through ethernet at the expected 2.5gbps, but I was never able to receive at any more then 700-800mbps.I went back through everything. Even disabled flow control. No change. Tried the switch again, and all works fine. I'm not sure if I just had a faulty unit, or if there was more going on. In the forums I'm in, people say they have this exact model and it works as expected, so I'm not sure what the issue was.It would be nice if they reached out after testing the unit to see if I just had a faulty one, or if there is some compatibility issue with it and my hardware. If it was bad, I'd happily purchase again. The build seems quality on the unit.
