100 Quick & Easy Crochet Stitches: Easy Stitch Patterns, Including Openweave, Textured, Ripple and More

As indicated in the title, the variety of patterns is very good and the directions are clear. The directions are written out (which I prefer) rather than charted. Also, the author indicated which yarn she used in creating the samples and that is very helpful.

This book does contain 100 stitches however it would have been nice to have a description of what each stitch would be good for. The pictures are in color. Unless you already know what the symbols mean I would not recommend this to beginners. I can't say that I am disappointed because there is a good variety of stitches to learn how to do. I only gave this four stars because there is nothing to help a person determine what each stitch is best used for.

It's a good thing they give really clear sample swatches, because there are a number of patterns in this book that simply will not work out correctly if you follow the written instructions exactly. I would NOT recommend this book for beginners. If you are a beginner and you have purchased this book do not assume that you are at fault. Examine the photographed swatch carefully, and see if you can work out what to do. I was pretty disappointed. Darla Sims is one of my favorite crochet designers and I have been collecting her patterns pretty much since she began publishing. This book is not up to the standard that I have come to expect from products under her name. I will point out that this is put out under the Annie's name, I have found that in general, things published under Leisure Arts contain less errors overall.

I've always been curious on how long projects take. This book will tell you exactly how long it will take to crochet a scarf or a blanket. These stitches are simple and cute. Not too simple that you get bored. I would say there is really only one that is extremely simple (p.78), the rest are still pretty intricate (not just sc or dc over and over again).I have other crochet pattern books but alas they are not colored. I don't know why, but there is pleasure to be had when a pattern is presented in color versus boring black and white.This is my go-to pattern book for gifts because it's simple and quick to do.

I can hardly wait to start trying these stitches in ponchos, ruanas, cowls, capes, shawls and anything else that has enough size to show off the stitches. I haven't tried yet, but I must try different yarns with the same stitch. If that produces the effect I think it will, this book allows almost unlimited variety.I think anyone who loves to crochet, and do your own thing, will want this book in their library.

This book is so complete...For each design it tells you what yarn was used and what hook was used. Then it gives the instructions for how to make it any size you want.I'm presently working on a wrap and it is working perfectly!I would highly recommend this book to anyone who loves to do scarves, shawls, wraps, afghans etc...

Book arrived in good condition, timely, and would recommend it for the beginner crochet user. Illustrations are quite helpful and the book as a whole is quite easy to follow and read.
