What a great budget laptop
I was nearly put off by some of the reviews. Glad I ignored to see for myself. Caveat..this is not a powerhouse of a laptop. If you want to game or do heavy dtp get something else. If however you want to surf the net, use office, email and watch YouTube/ netflix etc.. this has a cracker of a hd screen. Decent audio. Nice keyboard and it's so lovely amd quiet. When the fans kick on its a gentle whisper. Good connectivity with numerous ports but again not the fastest transfer rates. Someone said there are no lights when charging, there is on the external power supply. You can also check the status on windows. I have been very pleasantly surprised by this machine. The only thing I'm unsure of is the hinge when open become the front feet while on a desk. I have never seen this before so unsure if that will increase wear with age. So only time will tell with that. I'm delighted and would say for an average user this will suit a lit of people. 💯 % would recommend to friends and family.

A quality laptop
I've dropped one star because the description is inaccurate - the keyboard isn't backlit, at least not on the model with an i7 processor. Also, battery life could be a bit better, but it's pretty decent. Otherwise, I'm really pleased with this laptop after using it for a few months. The setup was very easy, and tailoring it to my tastes was simple to do. My work laptop is a premium HP model, but this Dell laptop does extremely well in terms of its speed by comparison, and the screen is really good. For the given specs at this price, this is a model I'd recommend.

Excellent value for money
Really impressed with this laptop, especially for the price. Runs Windows 11 smoothly and the 120Hz display is immediately noticeable much smoother than my son’s MacBook. The weight is just right not too heavy and it fits in the back of my bag easily even with the larger screen. Performance is great too. It comes with 8GB of RAM which is good value at this price I feel and the i3 handles all my tasks really well. You can also adjust the screen brightness on the keyboard just like other laptops, though you may need to hold the Fn key while pressing the brightness buttons. Overall excellent value for money I honestly can’t fault it.

Good Quality laptop
Needed to replace my 12 year old Acer that was starting to run very slow!! My Acer also had an i3 chip, but obviously the version in this Dell is a Gen 12 and is infinitely quicker! I only use the laptop for emails, internet browsing and watching the occasional movie when I'm travelling and it performs all these very well. No complaints at all.

Terrible - Poor Build Quality - Terrible Customer Service
I have had a number of Dell Business Laptops all of which were robust and reliable. Therefore, when it came to picking a laptop for my parents selecting a Dell was a no brainer. However, it quickly became apparent that this laptop wasn't anywhere near the quality I had come to expect from Dell - the keyboard was the first sign - terrible feel - not backlit. Then the laptop quickly developed a post-boot fault - it went back to Dell for repairs came back with a new motherboard. After a few days the laptop screen randomly started going blank - sent back to Dell for repairs again - this time no fault found. We now have to fight Dell to get the issue rectified. I wish I hadn't bought this laptop and I won't be buying a Dell again. Avoid like the plague!

Does everything I need to do as an average domestic user
This is ideal for daily home use personal administration and home entertainment. I use Dell for work and this fits straight into my set up. Easy to set up, and quality feels as good as my corporate machine. Haven't tested battery life, but does the job for me.

Probably better than my old PC
I know nothing about computers since the days of MS-DOS and do not like them. In this case the antivirus spent the first month badgering me about the approaching end of the free trial month, so I signed up and shelled out for 13 more months, but in retrospect that seems to have been a hustle and I'm not sure it was necessary. And the machine insists on updating itself periodically (why mess with perfection??). I foresee many other annoyances with it. My old computer I eventually banned from going on the internet to make it just leave my things alone, and I foresee this one also interfering. So it already annoys me and I am still trying to figure out how to use it (like, where are the mouse buttons?) or indeed whether to use it. One good thing about this is it seems to have adequate memory and processing speed for what is installed on it with some headroom for what I want on it, so it does not spend half an hour waking up when I want to use it, like my old PC.
