Great Product, Packaging wasn't professional but the product was great.
Someone suggested I get a silk pillow case to help with my skin being so dry an flaky in the wintertime so I began searching why this would be good for my skin. I remembered that my grandmother as well as many other older women I knew use to sleep with their hair in a silk hankerchief. I never knew the reasoning behind it. Silk pillowcases have many benefits for keeping your hair and skin in the best shape. Here are some reasons to sleep on a silk pillowcase....-They keep your face healthy. Your face has more contact with your pillowcase than any other fabric.-Help your skin retain moisture. Silk helps keep moisture close to your skin and will help your skin stay more hydrated than many fabrics on the market.-Reduce your chemical exposure. unlike silk, many fabrics, are produced from chemically intensive crops that require pesticides, herbicides and other chemical treatments before making it to your bed sheets.-It’s naturally hypoallergenic, natural resistance to dust mites, fungus and mold, in addition to many other allergens. This is one of the main reasons I like my silk pillowcase.-Silk can be beneficial for your skin and hair. Sleeping on a silk pillowcase can help your skin stay healthy and smooth and can help reduce the appearance of facial wrinkles.-It’s a true luxury experience. It is truly like having a massage every night.-Reduce bed head and split ends.-They’re easy to care for, silk pillowcases can be machine washed.-It’s a great value. There is no other fabric on the planet that is more luxurious than silk, and there is no part of your luxury bedding set that is more important than the pillowcase.-Silk pillowcases won't bind or catch hair the way manmade fabrics can. Hair glides on silk rather than rubs. Silk is not a manmade product, it is entirely natural. Unlike other fabrics, silk comes from an animal and contains amino acids that are compatible with and friendly to human skin. Silk wicks moisture and is also adjusts comfortably to ambient temperatures (keeps you cool in summer, warm in winter).I would have loved to give this product 5 stars because I love the product itself and use it everyday. However, when I ordered this product it came in a package that looked like it had been on a discount store shelf. The package had been opened and the pillowcase taken out. It was not folded properly when it was put back in the package it was just waded up and stuffed back into the package. I was even concerned that it had been used. I was excited to received it and didn't want to send it back so I washed it in my washing machine. I then contacted the seller and told them what happened. I explained to him that I wanted to keep the item but I wasn't very satisfied with packaging. We argeed that he would refund part of amount I paid and we were both happy with the transaction.*Disclaimer: I paid full price for this item (minus the discount given for bad packaging) and am using it for personal use in my home.

The Absolute Best!
I already owned a few silk pillowcases (from the "Feeling Pampered" company, purchased from Amazon)-they were reasonably priced and I've loved them so far- so I was already aware that silk pillowcases are awesome. I didn't try purchasing a Spasilk pillowcase until recently because the only color they had available for a long time was just the white one, which I thought was boring. However, once I saw that they'd added a bunch of pretty colors, I figured I'd try this brand out. I already own/use the Spasilk silk washcloths (which are amazing, BTW!), so I was pretty sure the pillowcase would be good as well. Well, I must say, this pillowcase beats the silk pillowcases I purchased from the other brand, in spades! Not only was it a little cheaper (which is always nice!), but the fabric itself is WAAAAYYYY softer and smoother, with sort of a satin-like shininess to it. The material is also a little thicker, with a little more weight to it (my other silk pillowcases are a bit on the thin, flimsy side), which I personally prefer. I purchased the Aqua color and let me tell you, it is the most beautiful shade of blue ever, a lovely pale, soothing shade of Aqua. I've already washed it once (I machine washed in warm water using Woolite and hung it up to dry) and it came out looking good as new and feeling just as smooth and silky as ever. I wish I hadn't purchased the 3 other silk pillowcases from the other company, because these are FAR superior in just about every way possible. I will definitely be purchasing more of the Spasilk cases if/when I need another one (in fact I'm purchasing another one now because they're awesome, and my other flimsy silk cases feel like they're on the verge of crapping out on me, which sucks because I haven't had them that long). SOOOO happy with my purchase, highly highly recommend this pillowcase to anyone looking for a beautiful and affordable silk pillowcase!

Nice pillowcases, but they caused me to break out
I ordered two of these silk pillowcases just to try them, because I've heard a lot that sleeping on silk is better for your skin and hair than cotton. It's supposed to keep your skin hydrated, and keep your hair from breaking and tangling. It really does seem to do those things, and they're well made pillowcases. They feel really nice, too. But, my skin is extremely oily, and silk (or any other slippery-smooth fiber) does not absorb oil. So my face was essentially sitting in a pool of it's own oil, and my pores got clogged, causing the worst breakout I've ever had (and I'm not acne prone AT ALL.) I noticed that my skin was much oilier in the morning with these silk pillowcases than it had ever been with my cotton ones. I changed the pillowcases regularly and kept them clean, but the breakouts kept happening. As soon as I realized that it could be the pillowcases causing this to happen, I did some research online and found that other women have had the same experience. So I switched back to cotton immediately, and the breakouts began to clear up right away. Cotton absorbs oil, pulling it away from the skin, which might be a bad thing for a lot of people, but my skin is so oily that I need the oil-absorbing properties of cotton. So I won't be using these silk ones. Thank goodness they weren't expensive, and that I only purchased two just to try them out. I understand that this is not the fault of the manufacturer or of the fabric itself. It just doesn't work for my skin type. So, to anyone who might be reading this, if you have very oily skin, you might want to stick to cotton pillowcases.

lasted 4 years
4 years of constant use. i guess thats ok. dont like how all the color options are constantly sold out. for as long as i shopped with spa silk they only had 2-3 colours available from their big list. but its the only silk i trust on amazon. will be purchasing again.

Really comfortable and easy to clean but not a panacea for my fine curly hair.
I purchased this particular silk pillow case on the advise of someone I met at the hair salon I go to every 3 months or so. Her hair is as naturally curly as mine, but hers is quite thick (a beautiful brunette). She gushed about how this particular brand left her hair without frizz in the morning and thus needed little maintenance after a night's sleep. My naturally curly hair is baby-fine - a very different texture from my brunette acquaintance. My hair is still a mess after a night's sleep BUT it IS less frizzy - so the silk helps my hair a bit. It is a very comfortable pillow-case (I'd never slept on silk before) and I don't think I'd ever go back to a "regular" cotton case - even the best cotton - because this is just so comfortable (and does help minimize my frizz), Cleaning is easy - I throw this in the delicate wash (with like colours because my case is black) and then I hang it up to dry. No issues with the envelope closure. I've tried another brand of 100% silk (with a zipper) which wasn't bad - but this one's better (and besides, I had to wash the zipper case by hand).

Is this real silk? Loses shine after washing.
I started using this after reading on social media how it would be better for my hair and skin. I had an elderly great, great aunt who swore by using a silk pillow case, until she died in her mid 90s so I thought I'd give it a try too.I wash it weekly or every 4-5 days. After 5ish washes, it is no onger shiny and looks worn out. It comes out of the washing machine and often dryer looking a bit wrinkly so if that matters to you, you may feel irritated when you make your bed and see a wrinkly pillow case.Maybe just because I have never heard of the brand and this is Amazon where some bad sellers like to hide, I do wonder if this is actually real silk. As customers, how would we know really? We won't so we have to trust that it's real. I think it's the loss of shine that makes me slightly distrust that it's real silk. (see pic).Anyway, taking off a star because of the wrinkly and lost shine after washing but overall, no major qualms with this pillowcase.

Very hot on face at night
If you run hot at night like me I’m not sure this brand is for you. My room is 17-18degrees at night cause I sweat. I rolled over hoping my pillowcase would be cold and cool me off and it was warm and when I laid on it I could feel the heat radiating through. I still sweat and my hair is more greasy at roots upon waking then it is with a high end cotton pillowcase. And my hair was clean and looked great before bed. I lift my head and you can feel the heat of where I was laying. Apparently real silk is suppose to regulate body temperature. I also read that cashmere silk is actually a mix of different silk unless they state it 100% mulberry or something else. There is no momme or stating which actual silk it is which makes me wonder if it’s truly real. I also read real silk is suppose to keep you cool in summer and warm in winter if that is true I might be unlucky. Cause I need it to keep me cool all year round. Colours are true to pictures except the gold and champagne color are wrong. If you want champagne color buy the gold color.. I told amazon to look into it this. I think it’s just a mix up in pictures. The gold picture is actually the champagne color and the other way around. Easy to clean and dry on air fluff only.Is it 100% silk. I don’t know I will be going to fabric land and asking them. And update with what they say.
