Shortness of connection gives less area for fitting to pipe

Not good...
...manufacturer is cutting corners...standard 1 inch PVC coupling is 60 mm in length ...these are 47mm.Seating area on each side is 5 mm shorter than it should be. Not good for you because it makes a less secure connection... but good for the manufacturer because it saves lots of plastics.
