I should have read the description. The lines begin halfway down the page. This would be great for kindergarteners that write a sentence and draw a picture above. My mistake. Donated instead of returning.

It's a notebook. It goes well with the pens I purchased.

These are oddly hard to find in-store. I sometimes find the primary rule with a blank top in-store, but even that isn't very often.Anyhow, I like that these are wide-rule, instead of primary rule. I bought them to use as science and nature journals. The kids can take notes and write on the bottom half and draw diagrams and images on top.

These composition books have special pages - the top half is blank and the bottom half is lined. It looks exactly like the writing paper used often in the primary grades. That is, it has a place for a picture and a place for a written description below. I actually like to use them as math journals. The students draw a picture representation of what they learned in math that day and the bottom have explains the same thing in words. They are way too pricey so I just wait for them to go on sale.

Perfect for my photographic journaling. 1/2 of the page is plain for sketches, photos, or pasting anything; and 1/2 ruled page for notes, creative writing... Nice price for the product!

Good quality smooth paper, regular pens don't bleed through but my fountain pens do (and markers might). Love these for framing out rough drafts for comics! Also good for practicing translations, I prefer to write kanji on blank paper and English on lined so these are perfect for that.

I don't know why, but the lines on the pages start halfway down the page.

I was scouring stores for months to replace my son's primary journal. He loved the space to draw as well as the spaces to write and I wanted to find another that hopefully had regular lines rather than huge lines. I stumbled on these and quickly ordered 3. The day we got them in, my son's eyes lit up and he set right off to journaling and drawing his stories out. The first is already half full and I have no doubts I'll be needing to order more soon.
