Functional but with provisios
Brilliant addition to portability of the radio. Odd thing is that I inserted the battery and put it to charge up which happened as it should. But I can only use the radio on battery while it is plugged in.Does this make sense? Once the battery is fully charged you have to switch the mains power off. All a bit odd especially as you need to keep an eye on the battery strength so that if you do use it as a portable unit, you need to ensure there is enough battery life for the job. The other alternative is to remove the battery once fully charged, to use it on mains power.

Lasts for ages if you turn off the radio properly
Inexplicably this wasn't available in the high street store where I bought the radio, but of course Amazon came to the rescue! Although I was a little put out that I had to buy an additional product to get my new radio to work on batteries it is definitely worth it as - if you turn the radio off completely between uses (by holding down power-off) rather than putting it into standby (pressing power-off once) the battery lasts so long I have to try and remember where I hid the AC adaptor! I have a cheaper battery powered DAB upstairs and I have charged that more than 6 times in the same time for one charge of this.

A bit dissapointing.
The radio is fantastic but the battery only seems to last about 18 months. My second battery has now packed up and both have lasted pretty much exactly this length of time, unfortunatley, outside the warranty. To be fair, I do use the radio every day for about half an hour so they are getting charged and discharged on a regular basis and when they were only £17.99 (with the original radio purchase), I didn't mind too much but at £30 a time with a penny change, I'm soon going to spend more on batteries than I will be on the radio itself!

Hepburn Battery
Works as it should, BUT the radio drains the battery when switched off and unplugged! Must be the constant display in power off. If you want to take your Hepburn out and about charge it up the day before ;)

Generally pleased with the battery pack.........
Early days but battery pack has so far charged and works ok....only downside is the connector which is fiddly and unprecise so as not to seem fully pushed on the radio tab...no ‘click’ when in place.

Essential battery pack for your Hepburn Mk II - but buy it at your peril - IT IS UNSAFE.
The battery itself appears OK and has taken its first full charge - BUT - and this is a Big But that I've e-mailed VQ about and they have chosen to ignore the following warning... WARNING: Whichever way round you install this battery in the base of your Hepburn Mk II, you are going to put stress on the short cable between battery and connector. This WILL inevitably result in one or more of the conductors pulling out of its connector pin in the plug unit, which will, in turn, either result in a simple failure - or the possibility of a high-resistance joint leading to localized overheating and the real possibility of a fire. The battery pack itself is probably fine - but the short connecting cable is neither flexible enough, nor long enough to be installed in the Radio base WITHOUT putting tensile and/or twisting stresses on this cable assembly - leading to the real risk of conflagration as described above. This could be rectified with a total recall of all these battery packs - which ViewQuest are obviously too scared to initiate. That's the first step. Having removed ALL these potentially flammable units from service, the actual fix is to either SHORTEN and FIX the cable / connector in such a way that the battery pack can only be installed One Way - with Just Enough flexibility to install or remove the plug from its socket - though thismay cause problems with the sliding battery cover in the radio base... The second option is to LENGTHEN and makek the connecting cable much more flexible, so no stresses are induced and the excess cable is coiled into the connector area in the radio base. So, come on ViewQuest management - bite the bullet and make this wonderful DAB / FM Stereo Radio with Bluetooth and great sound, SAFE. Because, like it or not, purchasers in Curry's or online WILL have to buy a battery pack, so it will be MUCH less expensive to PREVENT possible dry-joints and other stress-induced high-resistance areas overheating to a combustible condition. And PLEASE - don't forget to Terminate the employment of whoever was responsible for such an unsafe electrical connection system - but only AFTER that team or individual has fixed the problem...

It works well
I haven't had a battery of this kind before and find it works well in my DAB radio. I have had no problems with it. it is rechargeable and should last a long time.

Super Teil
