DD Hammocks Frontline Hammock - Lightweight Jungle Hammock with Mosquito Net for Solo Camping Backpacking Travel

This is my second hammock, my first DD hammock. I have a friend with a DD scout who kept parping on about how good it was but given how basic it looked I wasn't interested, when I was browsing for an upgrade this caught my eye however. So comparing this to the generic cheap hammock with a bug net I already had, these were my requirements and findings. Tired of sleeping with the hammock or the net trying to cover my face I was hugely impressed with the performance of the spreader bars and shock cord tie ups, you can also attach the net to a ridge line as I have rather than the included cord, with it up there's enough space for me to sit up in the middle of the hammock without touching the net. I thought the material on my old hammock was good quality but this has not one but two higher quality layers, between which you can put insulation (If you prefer that to an underblanket) or yourself (Not sure why exactly). It comes with some sturdy webbing that relies on knots, I elected to buy the whoopie sling and tree hugger suspension system which when combined with the hammock sleeve, makes setup easy and fast with infinite and super easy adjustment. I thought about modifying my old hammock with extra pockets and tie points but then I found this hammock which is masterfully designed by people who actually use these things. There are 2 pockets either end of the hammock well out of the way of my head that are big enough for water bottles, phones, even kindles or tablets and battery banks. at the top of the net are a couple more loops to hang gear from by string or carabiner, a perfect spot for your head torch or lantern. On the outside are two loops either side which are designed perfectly to attach to underblankets to keep them in the right place, they are also plenty sturdy enough for you to tie guy lines if you want to form the hammock further. This is a hammock with great features, an awesome array of accessories as well as opportunities to modify and make your own. I'm so pleased with this hammock and the brand and will recommend as a perfect cost/performance hammock.

Great hammock, roomy and easy to setup. One of the things I really like about this hammock compared with others is that there is a flap under the hammock so you can insert some insulation under your back easily (eg. a sleeping mat or wool blanket). If you haven't slept in a hammock before this, is the area where most of your body heat is lost. Having a layer of insulation in its own sleeve is great because it doesn't move around as much as if it were inside the hammock with you. Another nice feature is that the mozzie net can be unzippered from either side. Check YouTube for setting up videos as the instructions are sparse. I'd recommend going for the whoopie slings upgrade for ease of use and adjustability.

What can I say about DD gear its always fantastic quality and cheap to and there service is incredible every time it has come next day. It's my most used hammock the net keeps out all insects and the double under material holds a sleep mat for extra comfort and warmth. It has inside pockets big enough to hold a few bits and you can attach a line inside over head to hold stuff like a torch, highly recommend it.

As you would expect from DD. Just top quality piece of kit. Massive inside and easy to set up. A lot of people upgrade to Whoopie Goldeberg slings. But personally, I love the ones that come with it. it may be a little more expensive than some others. But, sometimes it's worth it. And in this case it certainly is. Don't compromise on your sleep system. Save money elsewhere. I learned that the hard way!

Fantastic summer camping hammock. Comfy, easy to hang, built in bug net and a pocket for roll mat incredibly handy. Literally, the only down side to this hammock is the fact that when you tie the ropes around a tree in the rain, even with a tarp over, the water runs down the tree and gets sucked into the entire hammock. This would be an easy fix by using some hammock straps around the tree and using a carabiner to hang the hammock. This would stop the soaking affect because there’s no fabric->rope contact to soak through. Great hammock overall though!

Fantastic. Extremely light, but deceptively durable. I just used this on a two night camp and it was super comfortable; much better than the back-breaking tent. The mosquito net is a great feature also. Definitely a great buy. A word of advice though, you will need to buy a tarp if you do not have one, as you will be bashed by an harsh winds or rain.

Take the weight off your feet, buy this. Used it quite a lot over the last 18 months on various camping trips, quality is very good as you'd expect from DD and it's the right size for my 6"2, the two layer design is great and keeps those bugs out while u snooze . To get the best from camping you'll need the other camping specific gear, underblanket etc, but if you just want to chill there's nothing better and this one won't let you down

Excellent lightweight hammock. Bought for a few extra features over the cheaper ones, mainly a midgeproof net (not tested in earnest yet, but net has very small holes), spreader bars for net, and double layer hammock material allowing a mattress insert. All these work well, and the bungee rope provided for suspending the midge net is also a good feature, reducing the stress on the net when getting in and out. I would have preferred to have the option of caribena clips rather than straps to allow quick setup and removal of the hammock, so I swapped these with another hammock (hence 4 stars for ease of use instead of 5). A caribena suspension system can be bought separately. A well designed hammock from a reputable company at a reasonable price.

Don't get me wrong, I love this hammock. Happy I went with it. But the stitching near the zipper was not done right. If you pay over 90 dollars for a hammock you expect it to not be fraying as soon as you put it up. Have pictures to back this up to.

teste pour la premiere fois pour un bivouac sur les bords de marne. la taille est parfaite surtout pour les grands comme moi.la moustiquaire est tres utile et pratique. le poids et le volume plie est parfait et surtout il est incontestablement tres confortable. j'ai meme eu du mal a vouloir en sortir tellement je me sentait bien dedans. a combiner avec un tarp de la meme marque en cas de pluie. tres belle qualite.

nicht gerade leicht und leider mit irgendetwas beschichtet, sodass nach jedem Gebrauch das Wasser genauso schön an den Händen abperlt wie von dem Material. Riecht auch komisch. Also gesund is das bestimmt nicht. Aber sonst ganz super. vor allem das moskitonetz, sehr schön engmaschig, da kommt kein krabbler durch.
