Makes easy work of slicing and dicing.
I have other Wusthof knives and I love them. I always use to think a knife was a knife and they were all pretty much the same. Then I got my first Wusthof knife and realized that all knives were not created equal. When you are doing a lot of slicing it is important to have a knife that cuts through vegetables and fruit with ease. These knives are worth the money you spend. It is extremely sharp.

I am a professional and Wusthof is the only knife I use
Amazing knife I have over 1000 dollars in this kind of knifes but in the Creme color. I am a chef and they work awesome. They stay razor sharp as long as you take care of them. I hone every 1 to 2 days but this is not needed once a week or two will keep them razor sharp depending on use with out the need for a stone sharping. It’s a wusthof nuff said!!

High quality knive, perfect for small hands
Wife wanted a higher quality knife, because all of the others we have used (for year) just don't hold an edge. She fell in love as soon as she tried this one. She has small hands, and this one fit perfectly. And, cuts tomatoes like butter. We'll see how the edge holds up after a few months of use and fine honing.

Wusthof Knives are Excellent!!!
Wusthof knives are well designed and well made. I use These knives and Dalstrong and nothing else!! If one takes good care of these knives they will stay sharp and last long enough to pass on. Every Wusthof knife I have was literally sharp enough to shave with when purchased. These are hard to beat high quality knives that need to be properly used and well taken care of,

Very happy with the value
I bought this for my wife. It was used with a blemish and I paid almost half of new. It arrived and had a small area at the tips edge that was slightly bent but not bad and a small 1/2 mm deep nick. About 5 min on my wet stones and it is better than new. Exactly as advertised and a great knife at a really great price.

Sharp knife
Very sharp! It makes cutting an apple or tomato a thing of ease and that makes it a pleasure. I can make extraordinarily thin slices of anything without tearing the item up. And after a month of use the knife is still very sharp...though I take care to clean it by hand right after each use and use the honing steel on it just before or after each use.The price was very good when compared to what is usually charged for this knife but...I purchased a Farberware Santoku knife from Walmart for around $12 a few months before this purchase and the Wusthof is not $100 sharper. It's difficult to tell the difference in sharpness between the two though I'd give the edge to the Wusthof. The Farberware has a plastic handle instead of African Rosewood but you can't tell the difference in your hand. It may be that time will tell the difference between the two in how they hold up over the next couple of years. I'd hate to think we're all paying 10 times what we have to for knife quality based on manufactured 'reality.'

This is my FAVORITE knife
This is absolutely my favorite knife in my entire collection. I like this one better than the larger Santoku and use this almost exclusively for all my veggies and fruits. Its very sharp. The handling is perfect. I liked this size so much I even got the 6" chef's knife.

My favorite knife!
I am a chef in a high traffic restraunt. This knife has served me well and is still my favorite out of my whole knife set.The hollow edge is great for slicing through vegitables and fruit. This knife seems to hold an edge better than my others.I recommend this knife to anyone who can handle a top notch blade.Note: You must keep the angle right on the edge and use it properly to preserve its brilliance.Warning! - Extremely sharp!

Worth the price
Having considered buying a Santoku knife for a while, I was tipped over the edge by using one recently. I went for Wusthof, having also looked at Global, as both brands have a good reputation among people with more experience and knife skills than me.It arrived, and I could not wait to try it out. It didn't disappoint, gliding through meat and vegetables as if they were barely there. The handle is very comfortable and, while it doesn't come with a protective sheath like some other brands, that isn't a problem for me, as I have a magnetic knife rack. Other potential purchasers may see this as a problem, considering the sharpness of the blade if stored in a drawer. Blade guards are available to purchase in that case.A Santoku knife is for slicing meat, fish and soft vegetables, not chopping harder things, so it won't be the only knife you need in the kitchen. But it will become most buyers' main knife. Highly recommended.

Pleased
Very pleased. Very good quality. I was skeptical at paying, what to me, was a high price, but I'm glad I did. Super sharp. As described on internet and Google sites. Fast delivery also. DON'T buy a pull through sharpener, not even a Wusthof one, but use a whetstone, oilstone or special knife sharpening device only. Pull through sharpeners will change the cutting angle.

Great knife
You get what you pay for, extremely sharp!PS as you can see in my picture, its got different writing on the blade. I contacted Wusthof who confirmed it to be their brand new design.

Yes chef!
I can't fail a single thing here.Handle fits perfectly in my hand, the knife blade has an ideal angle for my use and mild curve allows fast and easy chopping of herbs and garlic.I've found it well balanced and ideal for my daily use in the kitchen. But if you are not used to having a santoku knife, let alone very, very sharp knife - first few tasks will surely require some carefulness. My wife has never used this sort of knife before and she has found it a bit challenging at first. Now even she can use it with the same confidence as I do.Great knife indeed - really an extension of your hand.

Expensive but You Get What You Pay For
This knife is expensive but you really do get what you pay for. I was sceptical at first, a knife is a knife right, but this really is like slicing through warm butter when cutting pretty much anything.Even when slicing herbs finely, some knives have a tendency to just mush things together or won't cut the entire strip of herbs, but these slices all the way through without any effort.Highly recommend you get a sharpening steel with it (although I didn't get a Wüsthof as it is simply too much).
