The Ink Black Heart : Galbraith, Robert: desertcart.in: Books Review: Outstanding! - Another page turner from the genius that is Robert Galbraith/JK Rowling. Each Strike book has been better than it's predecessor, and The Ink Black Heart is no different. Complex and fascinating, it closes the problem with a satisfying end, but leaves you waiting for the next instalment in true Rowling style. If you're new to the Strike series, I suggest you read them in order if only to understand the character arcs that run through the books. Unputdownable, one of those books that you want to finish to reach the end, while also not wanting the experience to end! Review: A must read for Robert Galbraith fans. - With “Ink black heart”, JK Rowling (writing as Robert Galbraith) has demonstrated how meticulous she is, in portraying individual characters and how much she understands the nuances of social media interactions. She has woven a perfect albeit a bit protracted thriller. Sometimes thriller writers introduce a new element or a person suddenly to catch the readers off guard. Rawlings did not resort to such fraud, but created genuine surprise in this wonderful whodunnit novel. The way each loose end is tied neatly indicated how mature Ms. Rowling has become in narrating a thriller. There are some lovely sentences, some very quotable quotes and wonderful sentences in general in this novel. In spite of a enviable depth of vocabulary, Ms. Rowling doesn’t complicate sentences and gives us an easy read. Structured online trolling has become common place these days and the author skilfully reveals the murder mystery and how it is solved using the online tools the present generation is well versed with. The main drawback of the book is it’s length, but the author used this to make sure that the story is a thoroughly researched one. The romance between Strike and Robin, the two protagonists of the novel doesn’t advance much in this novel leaving the fans unsatisfied. Overall, the novel is a must read for Robert Galbraith’s fans, but a bit difficult read for the rest.

Books are better for reading than kindle
The plot is intricate, although feels unnecessary and dragged on at some points. But had fun reading this. This is must read for all mystery fans out there.

Fabulous
Oh, I am little biased when it comes to the C B Strike novel series. I absolutely love each and every book of this series. This one’s is also a really good read.

Interesting, but not as good as the previous ones
I have read all Cormoran Strike books so far, and I love the way Galbraith writes the plots so that it is very hard to guess who the perp is until it is revealed, even though all the clues are always there, right from the beginning of the book for all readers to see. However, in this one, there were hardly many clues for the reader. The ending seemed hastily written and did not tie all the loose ends, contrary to which I find is one of the best qualities of Galbraith's books. On top of that, there were so many typos that I wonder whether the book was ever proof-read. And then comes the part when the cousin suddenly becomes the aunt, or conversely, the other cousin becomes the niece. This was the most glaring error for me! How does my father's niece become my aunt and not my cousin? XD This was least expected of Galbraith. Don't get me wrong, the story WAS interesting and the book WAS a page turner. But I just didn't get the kind of ending that the other Strike books had set the expectations for. Not only didn't I get explanations for all the Chekhov's guns, but I also didn't understand what the explanation for "Anomie is not my girlfriend, she's my sister" was. Made no sense whatsoever. At the end of the book, I feel really disappointed.

Great Read
Slightly longer than your usual thriller, but none the worse for it. The book is gripping and highly enjoyable! Highly recommend to anyone who is a fan of the genre.

Awesomeness from start to finish 🤩
Brilliantly written to engage, transport you into the lives of the two most endearing characters that I have ever read. Very cool!

Come sempre, J.K.

Well, it is indeed a long book and, to begin with, feels a bit daunting. However, you soon get caught up in the story and before you know it you are racing to find the next moment to read some more. Initially I bought it on Audible. This was a mistake for a couple of reasons. The reader, although an excellent actor in his own right, did not sound remotely like the Strike on the TV. For all I know he has narrated all the books so far and so has created the characters in his own way, but the harsh Cornish accent (entirely appropriate) is missing from Tom Burke's portrayal. I did struggle with that. In the past, I've only bought the books, so this was a new thing for me. The other issue was listening to @paperwhite@dreksgame@ etc etc over and over again, was very laborious. Unavoidable, but tedious. You also of course missed a vital clue, perhaps the most vital, by not seeing those conversations on the page. However, my hearing is poor and so I struggled too much (there was also something very odd about the recording, with it jumping over words occasionally) and I bought the Kindle edition. This became a great experience, listening initially to a chapter or two while walking the dogs and then reading the same at bedtime. I still found that I needed to take some notes to find my bearings with the many characters and their various roles. This helped a lot. It didn't help me solve it, but at least I knew who was who. The story is the usual brilliant yarn we expect from the lovely JK, but I think this particular one had a lot to say about online cruelty that can only be based on her experience as a celebrity. It was interesting to see that in another online book review forum there were those who clearly had not read the book and were saying complete and utter lies about this one to promote their own disgust at the author's personal views. Some of the comments were truly horrific and actually frightening. This is literally what The Ink Black Heart is about. So real life imitating art imitating real life. We do get to see some development in the love story - although now JK says she has no plans to finish at Book 7, it is going to be a while before they have their Kismet moment. Read and enjoy. It's a fabulous book. Better still, get both the audible and kindle.

I really enjoyed this book, love the characters. It was difficult to read the online chats being in such small font on my Kindle and I couldn't enlarge it. I'm glad I persisted because it was a book worth reading. Looking forward to the next one!
