Sharp out of the box with no huge factory blemishes. Blueing may need a little touch-up, if you're an absolute stickler about it. I like it the way it came. More rustic looking.If you go to Hardware Store and get a inch and a half dowel, you'll be golden for the handle, minus a bit of shaping with a wood rasp.

I meant this sort of stuff when I have a chance to go home to pick up some of my camping gear I need so I picked this out at a handle already ready I've had for help for 5 years just haven't had a chance to get back to my forge so I took a chance high quality razor sharp if you order this I caution you on that it is not dull when you get it. It is very Sharp 😂

This is very light duty profile for a “war” ax. Maybe for half the price it would be worth it but for around $50 for just the head it isn’t really worth it. It’s size is in between a hatchet head and what it’s trying to be, handle size would be very small and delicate if you were going to try and chop with it, so pretty much a novelty walk hanger.

This is both a functional and exquisitely beautiful Viking Axe head. It arrives fully sharpened and can be used as is for chopping wood, as you would any small axe or hatchet. It has a unique primitive Viking quality to it. It holds an edge well, but when it needs sharpening, a simple sharpening on any tool quality sharpener fixes that problem. The axe head does not come with a handle, so you will need to provide one. I just used a small axe handle that I trimmed down to fit.The product description is accurate. It arrived in two days and without any issues. Overall, I really like this axe and would definitely get it again.

Can't find a handle so I'm going have to make one totally expect it to fail under use at this point.

Great item. I was very surprised when I opened up the box and saw the quality. This would be a great decorative item even though it would function just as the real thing.It was a little difficult to find a handle to fit it. I had to customize a hammer handle in order to get one that properly fit. Still worth it though.

I am SO excited about this axe head!I’ll admit… I’m a sucker for Vikings and their axes and knights with their swords. So this is right up my alley!I do a bit of wood working and leather working in my old age. I also happen to love weaponry and the design of this axe head. Combine all that together and I am one VERY happy camper to get to make an axe handle for this axe head.It VERY much looks like something you’d find in Viking lore and appears to be hand forged… which is GREAT!The plan is to make the handle out of hardwood and then wrap the belly, knob and part of the throat in leather. But I want to get my assessment of this axe head written and then just HOPE I can do it justice with my wood and leather working skills.This axe head is really nice. As I mentioned, I absolutely LOVE the way it looks handmade and was not created by some machine. Even the sharpening of the bit (blade) heel to toe appears to have been done by hand and not just shoved in a sharpening device.It measures in at 7 ½” from heel to toe and 6 ⅜” from bit (blade) to butt. It weighs in at a hefty 3 pounds!It is SHARP AND POINTY… this is NOT a toy!I am SO impressed with the quality of this axe head and can’t wait to get the handle made and wrapped. As I said… I just hope I can do it justice!

Fantastic price on this. Very accurate in design just wish it didn't have small milling marks everywhere. I can remove those and all things considered VERY pleased with axe head. Will make my own handle.
