Great book
This is a great book if you want to know all about fibromyalgia. It covers every aspect of the condition and how to control and improve symptoms.

Informative book but recipes and ingredients are not directed at uk market as found with a lot of other diet books I've purchased. It does contain lists of healthy food and unsuitable foods for Fibro sufferers so you are able to plan your meals using these as guidelines. In my opinion priced too high for my needs. Take note of authors nationality and research areas when considering purchase.

A good medical summary of fibromyalgia and its management, however there are a few points of note
I thought this was a really good book for those wanting to find out more about their condition and the medical theories surrounding it. It is written for the American/ Canadian market, but one can filter out these aspects. The advice about managing the condition is really good, and I will be taking that on board.The recipes however pose a problem I think. I have had a lot of experience cooking for intolerances/ allergies and gout diets, and I am functioning OK, and even I balked at these. Mainly because if the sufferer has dependants and spouses, this is going to be difficult for them to cater for everyone without cooking multiple meals; not great if you are in pain etc. Also, chia seeds, millet, quinoa, organic etc are very expensive, and this is going to pose difficulties for some sufferers. People may not have access to slow cookers, blenders etc either.Therefore the recipes need to be more simple and 'meat/ veggie meal centre and two veg' approach for people with families/ caring responsibilities. There are also some contradictions in there about oats and gluten, and the effects of nightshades. If you are vegan/veggie/ gluten intolerant you need clarity on this as you will likely rely on these as staples, and not necessarily the organic varieties.So in summary there are some good ideas within the recipes, but you are likely going to have to use/ adapt or reject to suit your pace of life and your means as best you can.

More suited to Canadian and American market. Learnt very little from it. The recipes are not great. Disappointed. Please stock more books from British authors.

Very interesting book as I suffer from fibromyalgia.I am in the process of trying out the diet plan.And it has highlighted areas I didn't know about.I would recommend.

I felt like it was describing me as I turned the first few pages ,, so much more information than my doctor had given me,, I now have a better understanding and also solutions in managing infliction

I have CFS and would recommend this to any CFS sufferer
I have CFS and would recommend this to any CFS sufferer. Good lifestyle information. I am 1week into the dietary changes and am enjoying the recipes. It took me a couple of weeks to mentally prepare myself for the shopping, preparation, cost and food changes. Too early to tell if I'm feeling better, but I'm very comfortable with the diet.6 weeks in and still sticking to the diet 'cos I'm feeling so much better!!!!!!! My energy has improved greatly, I can walk the dog for 30 mins now (haven't done that in 10 years!!). I'm loosing fat over 1lb a week and eating way more than I used to. Have no cravings for "forbidden food". Cost of staples to start with seemed high, but now that I'm not buying expensive stuff daily, it's good.A LIFE CHANGER FOR ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
