I recently got back into playing with watercolors and discovered these paints while hunting for some nice watercolors. I didn't want to pay the extremely high price for professional paints although I do have a couple of tubes by VanGough which I do like. So these are beautiful. They are creamy, smooth, a tiny chalky, but I really love them. There are differences between quality paints and cheap paints, and I will tell you, these fit right up there with quality paints. For the price, they are great!!! This brand is both affordable and high quality in my book of paints!

These are really good student quality paints and would definitely recommend for beginners! I wouldn’t consider it professional though, because they dry with a chalky residue and separate from the pans easily (I let them dry in half pans for a travel set) and I dropped the palette once and there were watercolor pieces everywhere . Overall 4.5/5 would buy again👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Updated review (six years later!)I have done literally hundreds of paintings since I bought these and I'm better. (That painting is cringe! LOL) I did buy much more expensive paints but I still think these are good! Yesterday, in a pinch, I came back to three of the colors to refill a pallet. I might not even know they are the cheap ones.--------------I am trying to get better by doing lots of watercolors. These are perfect.Expensive materials would actually be counter-productive because I want to experiment, throw-out, have fun. If I worried about cost, this would hold me back.For example -- the portrait is not my best work. But, I thought it would be fun to do a painting with all the colors.Some day, I might splurge on the expensive stuff -- but that's not what I need, now.

I have purchased other brands of water colors that as soon as you puncture the seal and the tube explodes. This set doesn’t have those seals, but the paint stays completely useable. The colors are super rich and very workable.The photo I have attached was me playing with gradients in only black.

Good range of colours in large tubes, tubes used so far have all met expectations. Seems to be good value for the money.

The left over paint on my pallet dried out and cracked. It has great colours but I don't find the texture smooth.
