Colorful Pebble activities
The good:*nicely constructed flat plastic stones in variety of appealing colors and sizes (great for counting and stacking)*sturdy colored sorting cups and tongs*thick card stock picture cards to put stones on*idea cards for creating images with the stones*solid box for storing all the pieces*my two year old grandkids were interested and engaged, though they spent an inordinate amount of time just carrying the pebbles around everywhere and putting them in dump trucks, etc. Some of the activities need some growing into, so that gives this set some staying power. The not-so-good:*not an equal number of stones of each color (this drives me nuts for some reason); ex. 10 red and 4 yellow*idea cards are paper thin*even though the product description says that the idea cards aren’t meant to be followed stone by stone, the kids hated that they couldn’t create the pictures as shown. For example, to make the crab you need two small yellow stones for one part, but our set only had one. Older kids may be able to look past the colors on the card and improvise, but for us it took away from the experience.Recommended age is 3 and up. Some of the smaller stones could definitely be choking hazards.

Great concept, but we didn't receive the proper colored pieces to complete the included diagrams.
We've been wanting a set of pebble blocks for our family daycare for a while and were excited to finally get a set. The concept is great and the pieces themselves are nice and smooth and well made. That said, while the set we received had the correct number of pieces in total, there was a very uneven amount of each color. The kit comes with cards for the children to match the pieces to make different patterns such as a duck for example. However, many of the patterns could not be completed, because we didn't receive all the shapes for each color. The duck for example requires the larger yellow pebbles, but we didn't get any of those in yellow at all. It was the same for several other patterns. In some colors, we received like 8 pieces in the different shapes and in other colors we only received maybe 3 pieces with not all of the shapes. We really wanted to like this and will still use it general play, but the pattern matching won't work with the pieces we received.

Not enough pieces to use the included card jigsaw papers
I have owned similar pebble jigsaw toys and this one is the worst. There are not enough of the pebbles to correctly do any of the paper images (see pictures)! I am so glad I opened this before letting my nephews play with it, it would have caused nothing but frustration for the 5-year-old!Even if I wanted to do the paper jigsaws with different colors, there aren't enough of the right size pebbles to use. The paper that have writing at the bottom are extremely thin, like copy paper. They would have to be laminated to last.Don't bother with this. During design, no thought was put into the paper puzzles in regards to which pebbles would be needed for completion of one. I have no use for this at home with little relatives, nor in my classrooms.

You can do lots of different play activities with this set
Sorting, stacking, counting, assembling... these are some of the activities you can do with this set.Shiny attractive colors and engaging for toddlers and multiple sets means you can do either a group activity or distribute out the pieces for kids to play on their own.Good add to the playtime activities in our daycare

Fun set
The grandkids seem to have a lot of fun playing with this set. I got quite a few toys for them to use while visiting and they like to mix and match all the plastic sets with similar colors. This set has been a real hit with them. Recommend

A multi purpose activity which is a lot of fun.
Counting Pebbles has a lot of different ways in which to use. All of the colors of the rainbow are here in different sizes and weights. The set includes six matching color bowls. My younger preschoolers enjoy sorting the pebbles into the correct color bowl. The tongs they use, encourage the correct tripod pencil grasp needed for school. I wish there were two tongs included, however, I do have an assortment of extras in my occupational therapy room.My older preschoolers and kindergartners use the pattern cards which encourage visual motor integration, size discrimination and eye hand coordination. Visual spatial and problem solving skills are used when stacking the pebbles on top of each other. Really nice soft plastic feel to the pebbles as well.
