Metrokane Black Rabbit Corkscrew with Cutter

This works great, removes tight tapered corks without any problems. A little expensive, but at least it does the job well.

Broke on the first attempt

Just got one of these from an auction site and can't recommend it enough. It is a simple manoeuvre to uncork your wine. It doesn't take a huge amount of effort and I've never had a cork split or refuse to come out. The spare 'screw' is a good addition, although the original one last for years. It is easy to use and looks good if you have friends over for a drink. Well made and designed to last for ever.

The corkscrew itself is perfect, easy to use and quick. The foil cutter is less so, being difficult to locate correctly and a little difficult to use

I have used a fair number of corkscrews over the years including those from Screwpull, but this is the best to date. It does what it is meant to do with the minimum of fuss and effort. But the real purpose of this review is to sing the praises of the maker Metrokane. After five years regular use one of the handles broke when I was extracting a cork. I was about to bin it when I noticed that the case said there was a 10-year guarantee, but we all know how worthless these often turn out to be. So without any expectation I emailed the company and surprisingly within 24 hours got a reply from their Customer Services department asking me to send it to them, which I duly did. Five days later a brand new Rabbit arrived in the post. I cannot praise this company enough (and no, I do not work for them nor do any of my friends and family!). Quite brilliant after service. Well done Metrokane. If I could give you 10 stars I would.

Looked OK but broke on second use. Had to return to Las Vegas!

At first, it feels cheap, as it is lighter than most equivalent types of lever corkscrew. But on using it, it works really well and is firmer and smoother than the non-Rabbit one I had previously. Remains to be seen how durable it is with repeated use.

Broke the first time I used it.

This purchase was a replacement for a Rabbit lever corkscrew that was almost 14 yrs old and had a lot of miles clocked! This is one great corkscrew that anyone can use with no effort at all. If your a wine drinker you need to own one or 2 because your friends will try to steal it when they use it! BEWARE: the electric Rabbit is a piece of junk and should be avoided at all cost! A friend gave us one as a 2011 christmas gift. Right out of the box the LCD screen didn't work. It was replaced by Metrokane free of charge and told to throw it away when the new arrived! NICE customer service! The replacement opened 3 bottles but struggled. Bottle number 4 killed it. Put it back on charger and never opened another bottle again. We were told to return it w/ proof of purchase. Well it was a gift or a replacement for a gift, we don't have a proof of purchase! They told us we needed to send it back w/ $10 for shipping and handling. Well we decicded to use the one we were told to throw out (call me cheap i don't care). It also died after about month of use. We threw them both out! Back to the Origanal Rabbit Classic forever.
