Re-Nourish: A Simple Way to Eat Well : Lambert, Rhiannon: desertcart.co.uk: Books Review: You only need this one book - I've been following Rhiannon on Instagram for ages and what really appealed to me was her focus on a healthy relationship with food. She obviously is very slim and fit and I felt like there was hope in having a relaxed, healthy relationship with food AND being slim. I've been trying to move away from focus on weight to focus on health for a year or two, so it was reassuring to see she had successfully done the same and that this opinion was coming from a well-qualified source. The book arrived just after Christmas, which was well-timed, not because of Christmas but because of a recent slip up in my attitude around food and a foray into intermittent fasting, that ended up with a few weeks of binge eating as a backlash when I pushed it too far. The book has brought me back to my good habits and sensible outlook. It provides a clear, simple message that cuts through any fads and gives confidence to anyone looking to just have a straightforward, consistent and sane relationship with food. Something about having this all written down on the page is very useful if you are prone to anxiety around weight. I'll be treating it as a handbook to return to for reminders when things go awry. Other things I loved were the helpful descriptions around portion sizes and in particular the photos of these. Something about the photos just made this information click better for me. The information about different elements of a meal (the veg/protein/carb elements) has got me to relook at some of my breakfasts and lunches to make sure they are balanced. There aren't big changes to make, but just tweaks. Also... the recipes!! I have had so little luck with recipe books as most stuff is just too long-winded or complicated and/or not tasty enough. In this book I have found a number of great examples of recipes that I will actually use, or which are similar to what I already eat but have some ingredients I haven't used that will give more variety in my diet, like pomegranate, dried apricot, smoked mackerel and tzatziki. What she has managed to achieve with this book is amazing. I honestly don't think I need any other books or info to get me on the right track and actually by just using this one, I feel like it will simplify my outlook and stop me hunting around for new ways of eating. Working on getting simple, healthy eating consistent is really the only fix for a bad diet or a bad relationship with food. :P Review: 100%+ pleased with my purchase. - Could not be more happy to have purchased this book! So refreshing to read information from an actual qualified nutritionist whom knows what they are talking about, in=depth. Rhiannon's book has a lovely flow and easy to follow layout. With actual educated information, the focus is not on faddy short term diets, but on fuelling your body with what it needs. Full of nutritional information, that is easy to understand, not full of complicated jargon. Lots of yummy recipes included. Vegans, any recipes including meat etc are easily able to be converted to being vegan friendly. Although theres a lot i there already that is fine. My dad who rarely picks up a recipe book, and would never purchase a book like this himself, has even been interested in Rhiannon's book. The information is easy for him to understand and he's been very interested in the knowledge presented in this book. Education is key! As somebody with Hypermobility syndrome chronically/ Ehlers Danos i have to have a higher protein intake that most people, just to help my body cope with the energy it needs daily to function. But i need to do this in a healthy way. Whilst i wait for my NHS nutrition appointment, this book is going to really help me in the meantime and to also properly understand what is discussed at my appointment. Just a lovely clear, beautiful, well photographed book.Much better than wasting money on fad diets that don't last or really help. This is a book full of proper nutrition and food education.

Amazing! BOOK OF A LIFETIME to nourish your brain, body & soul
I’ve followed Rhiannon ever since hearing her speak at a wellness panel and her approach to eating changed my life, quite literally. I was so excited to buy this book and it’s turned out to be even better than I expected which is saying something! I love that for once there’s a book encompassing being your healthiest, the science behind food, myth busting and explaining micro and macronutrients as well as including sections with sample meal plans, putting together healthy packed lunches plus LOADS of amazing recipes! So many books promise content and don’t deliver. This book more than delivers.... in addition to all the above, it helps you with mindful eating, body confidence and healing your relationship with food for such a reasonable price. It’s refreshing to see a quality book on this subject written by an actual nutritionist in a day and age where anyone and everyone offers advice on social media (often dangerous celeb faddy diets). The care and attention and knowledge Rhiannon brings to the table having specialised in eating disorders is really incredible... and it’s super accessible, an interesting and fun read. You’ll look and feel your best for implementing her advice - if you buy one book this year I’d make it Rhiannon’s! (As an ex ED sufferer I don’t say this lightly!)

If only this is what they taught in schools....
Cannot recommend highly enough - this book should be taught in schools! From growing up being influenced by celebrity diets in Heat Magazine, to now be bombarded with an array of conflicting nutrition messages on social media, it is so refreshing to read a professional, scientific and evidence based approach, that cuts out the noise and brings nutrition back to its basics. Through her method of the 4 R's, stressing the importance of nutrients (not calories), practicing self-love, and eating mindfully, throughout the book Rhiannon perfectly addresses our increasingly complex relationship with food. All of a sudden, the seemingly impossible concepts of 'moderation' and 'balance' become so simple. In addition to an array of delicious recipes - breakfasts, lunches, dinners and deserts - that can be easily tailored for any diet, this book really is a bible for building a healthy, sustainable and balanced approach that will last for life. A simple, honest and - most importantly- fad free approach to eating, Re-Nourish truly is a breath of fresh air.

Especially die first half of the book gives interesting insights explaining the big topic of food and nurishment in a simple and understandable way. The author succeeds to put complicated matters into an easy to understand language while being close to the readers everyday life. I always have to restrict myself from wanting to tell everyone around me all the stuff I learned from this lecture. :) Would love a copy in German language to give to friends and family in Germany! :)

This is no ordinary cookbook! It's really a guide to nutrition written by a professional, highly qualified, practicing nutritionist. If you are interested in factual information about building a healthy relationship with food to nourish body and soul them this is a book I cannot recommend highly enough. I've learned so much from this book, Rhiannon Lambert's second ebook, "A Simple Way to Eat Plant Based", and by following @rhitrition on Instagram. I'm excited to try the innovative and healthy recipes that she has designed to help us remember that we have taste buds for a reason! We were meant to enjoy eating a wide variety of foods. It's about nutrition, but she reminds us there is a social aspect to enjoying food, friends and family. It's not about restricting our diets, it's about what we can add to our diets to enhance, not only our health, but our joy! This is an investment in self-care!
