My Metro Mobility Max Plus Red, 4-wheel electric scooter model SW1000S [with cane holder or "crutch box", visible flag and rod, independent suspension coils (rear wheels), four pneumatic 9"x 3" puncture-resistant tires, 300W motor, 12V/20Ah batteries, cell phone charging outlet, 45 mm ground clearance, twin cup holders, front and rear lights, dynamic and automatic braking, and enhanced cruising range] is an absolutely perfect mobility device for both indoor and outdoor use by a person who has disabling spinal and neurologic injuries. For life in a senior center and frequent trips to doctors' offices, I did find it necessary to unplug the extremely loud and very piercing alarm for backing. I also found it necessary to drill two pairs of holes in the armrest brackets for pins/locking bolts for two optional and reliable width settings. By adding a cutout switch to that shrill backing alarm, which I unplugged, could be made into a personal security alarm. Two more options: I was also able to enhance battery performance and cut battery weight in half, by installing a pair of 10-year Lithium Iron Phosphate matrix batteries, each rated at 12V/30Ah; and my selective use of reflecting tape on some surfaces greatly enhanced visual presence for both night and day.
