Great reader for the money!
Honestly, I wasn't sure I was going to keep it when I ordered it. But I was pleasantly suprised! When I received it, it was in English and ready to go. I started reading w/ the Kindle app within seconds of turning it on.Things that I thought MIGHT be a problem for me and what my thoughts are now:* Glossy screen : I don't even notice this. It comes with a matte screen protector, but I hate those things so I didn't add it. I'm fine with the screen the way it is.* Speed : Oh yeah. It is slow. Very slow. But if you are using it is as daily reader that you can carry in your pocket and not stress if it gets beat up for lost, then the speed won't be an issue for you either. When I read w/ it, speed isn't an issue.PRO TIP: It does come with a case. I use the case, but I put it on backwards when I put it in my pocket so it protects the most important part of the device: THE SCREEN! Yeah, then when I take it out to read later, I just take it off and reverse it.In sum: I'm very happy with this. This is my smallest reader yet and I'm loving the experience with it so far.

Reading on the go right in your pocket!
[NOTE: I bought it from seller "UBO Online Store" and it came with English preinstalled in it as well as developer options pre-enabled. This is a huge plus because otherwise it would be a bit of a hassle to get English going on (even though there are guides on the Internet on how to do that if need be).]RECOMMENDED FOR: people who are ANDROID-SAVY and eink-savy and not hung up on speed if it means they get a phone sized super light e-reader to take along and enjoy everywhereBUILD AND INCLUDED CONTENTS:- The device came in a cute box- It also contained a screen protector for it, which is a lifesaver: the device itself has a very glossy screen, but the screen protector is matte or semi-matte and cuts that down really well all the while preserving text clarity. The screen protector included was also extremely easy to install (with the help of a card like those included in screen protector packs - not included here unfortunately but you can use any sort of paper card) and I didn't get any bubbles when I was done.-A usb charging cable is also included- Super cute, extremely lightweight device. It feels like holding air. Build seems all plastic but very sturdy and nice.SETUP:-APP STORES:That's the parts that take a bit.By default, the device comes with mostly Chinese apps. You can sideload fdroid and / or apkpure app files and install them, and then you will have access to those app stores to add new maps from.I recommend using a custom launcher, 'Unlauncher' is definitely the best one that I've tried, for this particular device (for other devices it might be different).I very heavily recommend downloading custom keyboard apps too, 'simple keyboard' has been much snappier for me than the pre installed gboard which takes thirty seconds to load each time I want to type.-NAVIGATION: A very important thing to do as well is to set up what the logo button does. This device does not offer a typical android navigation bar - this is really important to note. Therefore, I set up the local button to 'go back' if tapped and' go home' if long pressed. I really recommend you do the same, otherwise you will have NO way to go back to home screen.Another note, navigation is slow. This device is not a powerhouse by any means, and it shows. Don't expect to do web browsing much at all with it.-APPS TO USE: Both KOreader and moon reader+ work well on this. EinkBro for a web browser as well. I downloaded the Wikipedia app but the scrolling is a bit painful, viewing Wikipedia in the web browser in article view works kind of better.- RESULT: Here's the best thing about this device: with my setup with Unlauncher and moon reader +, if I turn off the device while in a book, when I turn it back on it opens right in that same book same page and I can continue in a pinch. this is rare in android readers. And the device turns on in literally a second, too.SCREEN QUALITY AND REFRESH RATESResolution is perfectly good, text is crisp and readable in all non dark lights. there's a frontlight with temperature controls also if you want to use it.The anti glare screen protector included in the box really counters the natural glossiness of the screen and therefore that is a non issue, I am having no problems from any glare whatsoever. You can choose from two different refresh rates, one of them called textmode and the other called graphic mode. Textmode is the one for better quality but slower navigation/more refreshes. Graphic movies better for scrolling and navigating in general, but will have way more ghosting.BATTERY LIFE: this device is tiny and lightweight, and therefore its battery is also tiny and lightweight. Battery life is not very good. It is still sufficient, and it charges fast.END NOTES:Don't have crazy expectations and you won't be disappointed in this little guy. I enjoy reading on it while on the go, very portable. Slow to navigate so stick to using it for reading books. It absolutely serves its purpose for that!

Poor battery life, slow
I've been using this for a few months now, and I've finally just gone back to my Kindle. Sure, this thing is incredibly portable, however the standby battery life is abysmal. I typically keep my ebook readers in my backpack for times I find that I have more than just a few minutes to myself - so I'll pull my book out to read. However whenever I pulled out the Moaan, it's just out of battery and I have to charge it up. By that time, my free time is over and I'll need to put it away.. to run out of batteries again. The unit is also very slow - slower than I was expecting. I run Libby off of it and it's just so slow. Side button page turners don't work on Kindle app which is a deal breaker for me as well as I don't like how slow the swiping is on the pages. This might have been acceptable a few years ago, however I think they really skimped out on this model.

Great E-Reader
Display is really sharp, and easy on the eyes. Will clearly display smaller fonts than my previous brand name, store linked e-reader, I can have more words on the page, despite a smaller screen. BTW, I am 66 and near-sighted.It is an e-reader, not a tablet, so despite running android, it's not designed to run programs, and they run very slow if you try. I loaded the Uptodown store on it, and use E-reader Prestigio. The preloaded e-reader was ok, but the book cataloging function was poor. Putting the Refresh Mode in Text position eliminated any ghosting while reading. Battery lasts 4-5 days, but recharges quickly. It is light weight and very easy to use one handed. I transfer books from my computer via USB cable using Calibre. All in all, everything I was hoping for.

Do not upgrade!!
I got this e-reader in September and have liked it for reading only. Well last night I started to read then got a message to upgrade. I started it, it downloaded it, and while it was installing it went dark and this morning it will not come on. It is now garbage. I checked and the support stopped on December, 5. It is now December 12. I do not know how to contact the Moaan people but if I did I would say- Great job to destroy your product 7 days after support runs out with a supposed upgrade. So, DO NOT BUY THIS E-READER!!! I am out $159.00 for this lesson.

For anyone wondering how its set up
Its set up to English, It has Gboard on it but you have to switch that on to type easily in English.Mine had amazon on it already. It is ready to side load apps on it.You have to apply the matte screen it comes with, makes type a bit hazy but I adapted easily- its just that you saw how sharp it was before.hmm what else? oh yeah the icon on the bottom is the home button. Took me a second to realize that was a thing. Performs as expected, its a tiny lil reader! Now I just have to find a case.
