ROLSON BOX SET Hand Planes No 4 7 Mini Block..
I realise most of the hand plane snobs out here will knock these but I'm new to hand tools like these. I bought a lovely little Hand plane in my local Woodies DIY store for 17 euros and it's a belter once I honed the knife and set it up correctly/ That's what Youtube is for good ppl..The no4 plane has a lotta weight to it for something so cheap. I have yet to set it to my liking but once I do I will be back to review again further..So far I'm well pleased with the Smoothing plane. The little block plane has me thrown for a loop. I don't know how to get the knife out to sharpen it. I'm stumped with that one right now but I'll get there. Both for around 20 euros is a steeeeeal imho!!!

Needs work
If you're not experienced with using a smoothing/bench plane this is not for you, the blade/iron needs a good bit of work to be sharpened before use, the chip breaker also doesn't have an even contact with the iron, meaning you will get chips stuck between the iron and the breaker, so you will need to work that as well, the lever cap has not had any finish done to the underside (the side that has contact with the iron and chip breaker) and has only the cast finish, meaning it doesn't have a good even contact with the chip breaker, so you will also need to work that.Once the iron has been sharpened it does a fairly decent job as you can see from the attached photo. As for the block plane, it is not fit for purpose at all, it has no adjustment for fine tuning and you can only set with the eye, also the iron hasn't had any sharpening done to it what so ever, it has a very rough machine finish.Of course you're only paying £20 for both, so can't expect a top end product. If you don't mind putting in a bit of work to get it to standard then it's a fairly decent buy.

Worst plane ever in every category.
Ok so this isn't just a matter of me being overly judgemental of a cheap product.I didn't expect much. The bar was very low.The results has lead to me buying a new electric plane.Firstly and most importantly the blade was the bluntest blade I have ever seen. Which includes things I've abused. It took me forever to get it sharp enough to actually function as a plane.Once I had sharpened it to at least a reasonable amount I spent a short while using it. Noticing that there's a significant burr on the back end of the handle which made it very uncomfortable to use. Then I checked the base plate. It's very coarse where it's been machined down and it's very obvious from the texture difference that it's not even close to flat. I checked with a known straight edge and a light. Again I didn't expect much but damn is this a bad plane.Do NOT buy this plane. It's worth the extra to get a decent plane. It's even worth extra to get a bad plane that's at least functional as a plane. It gets 1 bonus star for accuracy since the block plane is functional even though that's pretty bad too.

perfect
good quality for the price , works perfect after sharpening

Cheap and NOT the most cheerful.
Honestly for the price. It's well meh. This was not bought by any means to last a long time. Blades WILL need sharpening but do take a half decent edge. Construction is just thrown together. Over all this plane is exactly what you'd expect to get for the price you pay. Would not recommend to beginners wood workers. Would recommend to people who like taking cheap things apart to see how they work before investing in the expensive version.
