Good emergency radio or for camping.
Good emergency radio capable of picking up far away broadcasts. I use this when camping in remote locations to check on weather or just pass the time. Inexpensive emergency radio. Recommended.

Lots of Positives with this One
Rechargeable AM/FM/SW/MP3 radio with an integrated flash light and includes a replaceable rechargeable 18650 lithium battery, a 1000mA power supply and 5foot power cord.Out of the box, it feels hefty and looks good. Initial charge took only a few hours.Antenna is 24inches.Reception of AM & FM is satisfactory, but I can't vouch for DX capabilities except to try for WWV at 2.5, 5, 10, 15 and 20MHz on shortwave for time broadcasts. Daytime reception of 15 and 20MHz happened. 2.5MHz is not available on the radio. There are noises emitted from my computer, LED lights, etc. that cause static on the radio.Display times out after a few seconds and returns with any press of buttons. Power button, long press shuts the radio off, but short press cycles through delayed shutoff from 15min to 120min.Default volume is at level 8 when turned on each time. If there is a way to change that, I did not find it or I would turn it to level 2. Not sure how it happened, but it now turns on at volume level 2. YES! Yet, when it locks up, it resets to level 8 again. Argh!I plugged an 8gb USB drive containing .mp3 files into the radio and it locked up. Nothing worked again until I unplugged the drive. So I reformatted the drive and put the same files back on with same result. A second USB drive seemed to be readable but no sound and odd display. I tried renaming a couple files to 1.mp3 and 2.mp3, but that didn't work either. Finally I tried a 32gb class 10 sd card and that worked. There are no tone controls nor blind search controls for finding stations. Only the tuning wheel. The solid handle impedes the swing of the antenna towards the front of the radio.Flashlight beam has a bright center spot with a kind-of aura about it that is less bright.Positive:RechargeableInexpensiveUSB & TF playbackBattery includedDisposable if it breaksLasted many hours playing AM station.Negative:Not many hits when searching online.

Decent with a lot of features
I bought this mainly to see if I could get any shortwave radio stations in my area. Unfortunately I wasn't able to find any, but I can't fault the radio for that. It is digital but relies on "analog" dials to find the station, without any automatic tuning features that I could find. It's interesting getting a radio built in this modern age, because while it has some new features like usb, some of the capabilities of radios from days yonder are gone. The sound quality is decent, and I like how it looks. It has a bit of a retro vibe to it. The flashlight is fairly bright and would be useful if needed.

4-star FM, 3-star AM and Shortwave, 2-star Volume control
Digital Frequency/Volume: It seemed that, with a numeric keypad, you'd type in the frequency and *boom* you're there. Nope, it's a digital tuner, but you control it with an analog dial. That's fine, each form of input have advantages, so just be aware of it. The volume control, however, that's a big oops-- U02 (the 2nd volume position) is too soft and U03 is too loud (if it's sitting on your desk, nearby). You get it-- digital, 10 levels of volume adjustment, need finer steps.FM: It pulls in some hard to reach stations, solid signal, nice clear, high quality sound.AM: Worse than average, noisy, scratchy, should be better.SW: I like to test with WWV (5,10,15, 20mhz). Some shortwaves can pick it up from here, some can't. This one can't.If you're mainly listening to FM, then this radio is fine. The volume issue is manageable (place it a little further or closer). If you're wanting AM or Shortwave, there may be better choices to check out first.

Nice AM/FM/SW Radio - the basics with some improvements needed.
This is a nice basic multiband radio, especially for FM reception. The AM band seems to pick up a lot of noise (e.g. 60 Hz hum, static) unless the station is near or high powered I guess. Shortwave (SW) is hit or miss of course with the built in telescopic antenna - could use an external antenna connection for SW - I have another, smaller, digital tuner radio that supports this and is really needed to pick up distant overseas stations (typically overnight). Likes - includes nice, large lithium battery, sleep timer, solid feel to the radio, bright clear display for the frequency/station, nice feel to the tuner wheel, excellent FM reception, clear sound, built in light, handle (should have been foldable/retractable but that is minor), headphone jack BUT does not cutoff the build in speaker (??), solid feel for buttons, nicely packaged - giftable Dislikes - AM band noisy unless station is high power/close, numeric keypad is only for MP3 playback apparently (?), headphone does not cutoff speaker, non-retractable handle. Suggestions for improvement - external SW antenna connection and should include longer wired antenna for SW, make keypad for frequency entry as well, better noise suppression for AM band. I did not test the MP3 playback feature but I'm sure that would work well. You could load up a bunch of MP3s on a USB stick and set it for playback let's say at a party or for background music.
