I bought for my boyfriend who needs for his back. It's the perfect size It retains the cold very well and yet is flexible enough from the freezer.

Perfect to slip into pillow slip. I cool it in refrigerator, then 2-3 hours in freezer. Does not freeze hard. Love this.

Sometimes getting a smaller hot/ice pack to hold in place is difficult. When you want to cover a larger surface, this reusable gel pack comes in handy.Take care when heating for hot compression as it's easy to overdo it. Instructions say less than 30 seconds at a time. I suggest starting with even less than that because a lot depends on the appliance, often microwave you are using. I've considered just dropping the pack into a large pot of water to heat the gel. Haven't tried that yet as we mostly use gel packs for cold compression.

Love this for my neck and back. My husband uses it on his knees. It is pliable which makes it easy to use.

Works perfectly for back

The size of this ice pack is great. I used it a good bit over the summer to cool down when the AC went out, and it stayed cool for a good amount of time in the summer heat! Nice quality and works well.

I was very sick with flu type symptoms and running a fever. My entire head hurt and I had a swollen lymph node. Waiting for the medication to work I put the Cushion Large Reusable Gel Ice Pack 21"x13" Cold Pad over my head and wore it like a hood. It helped relieve the intense pain from the fever and cool off my head. The swelling of the lymph node also dissipated. I couldn't strap it in place given the odd placement of the pad but it covered all the areas that I needed covered. I moved it around to cover my sinus and pressed. It is flexible that I could position it as needed. Usually I use a bag of frozen vegetables as an ice pack because they are easy to grab and shape. Most cold packs are just too small or not cold enough. The pad was so much better than a bag of frozen vegetables. First of all, it gets cold fast. It doesn't become hard when cold. The pad can be shaped any ways you want it. At one point I folded it into three and placed over my eyes and forehead like a washcloth. Since I was so warm the pad only stayed cold for an hour. So I had to keep putting it back in the freezer for a few minutes to cool down again. Eventually my medication worked for the fever and I was able to get some bed rest to fight off the illness. Having this cooling pad relieved the pain. My eyes also hurt so I put it over my eyes to block out the light. I'm not a migraine sufferer but I wonder if this might help someone who has migraine headaches. When this pad was in the freezer cooling down I had a different smaller pad to alternate. For this price I would recommend considering getting two.

Sometimes I get a full back ache from my shoulders all the way down to my lower back. This is a perfect size for that back pain. You could just lay on it or you could strap it to you with the long Velcro straps that are included. It’s nice to be able to strap it on, so you can still walk around and do your regular things that you need to do. You could also wrap it around your hamstring or your calf if you pulled a muscle in your legs. I really like this ice pack. It stays nice and cold without being too cold. I would highly suggest that you wear a thick sweater between you and the ice pack or maybe a double folded towel to make sure that you don’t freeze your skin. There are no tears or leaks in the ice pack and the velcro straps are in excellent working order and are very stretchy and long enough to go around a large adult’s midsection without an issue. If I have any problems with this product in the future I will come back and update my review .
