I'm a photographer and I'm constantly agonising over how I can carry my various bits and pieces on both personal and professional outings. Sometimes I just want a comfortable bag which looks good, and which will carry a small spare camera, or a lens and a flashgun. This bag could not be more perfect - it's super stylish and very lightweight, so I'm not adding to my burden. It has loads of deep pockets perfect for batteries, cash, powder and lipgloss, and the zips make it secure. The wipe clean fabric adds another level of practicality. The webbing strap is sturdy and comfortable and fits perfectly across the body. I think it's fab and I now want it in several other colours.

I've bought many handbags over the years hoping to find one that is is simultaneously big enough for days out (umbrella, notebook, sunglasses etc.), small enough for evenings out, can be used equally for both smart and casual occasions, has enough pockets (but not too many) to separate out the contents for easy retrieval and is light and comfortable to wear across the body without looking like my local postman. The Alvar bag fits all of those requirements and is the best bag I have bought. I would struggle to fit in a large book or packed lunch but that would be pushing the parameters really. I've used it every day since buying it. It is strong, well-made and looks good too.

I have 2 other Kipling Bags and although they are nice they have not been the "one " for me . I love the fabric and the space in them so was looking to find the "perfect bag" I have a school age child and a toddler so am still in the habit of taking nappies etc with me everyday but did not want a huge bag and after a great deal of looking and comparing I went with the Alvar bag as it had so many good reviews .I ordered in True Blue and I have to say it's a lovely navy colour and I know it will go with all outfits.The space is great , has lots of pockets but as with another reviewer I wear mine over my right shoulder hanging it to my left side and therefore the zippers are from back to front which is something I have not had before but it does not take away from the fact it's a great bag with lots of space,I can fit purse, keys , phone, make up bag, and a nappy and wipes too .Sits nice and close to the body .At the moment no real negatives about it so will see how I go and may order in Laquer White for the Summer .

True blue is a nice navy colour and the neat style gives it a smarter look than many kipling bags. The layout doesn't work for me though - the bag is much slimmer than I thought so with the two zipped main compartments if I put an umbrella and Kipling yelina purse in one of them it makes putting anything in the other one awkward. This bag may as well have had a single main compartment. First time I'll be returning a kipling bag.

I have bought so many bags over the years trying to find 'the one' that my husband has trained my sons to keep me away from the bag shops! Sneaked this one past their radar as still wasn't satisfied with my own bag.I'm a bit fussy about my bags (as you may now be aware) but I must say I do like this bag. It is definitely with me for the long haul.I looked at all the reviews before buying a kipling bag and choose the one that was described as 'medium'.Going from a large bag to a smaller one I was worried that I would find it cramped, but, once I binned the junk I really didn't need, everything fitted in perfectly with room to spare in case you want to sneak large packets of sweets into the cinema.True Blue works out to be navy blue. It's made from nylon so is light. The zips are made of metal and of good quality and you can adjust the strap to where ever you want it. (no holes in strap).One of the main compartments has a key holder made of material, so no groping around in your bag for the keys, and a large make up pocket and plenty of room for a purse/wallet. The other compartment has a mobile pocket big enough for a large mobile, two pen pockets and another pocket that fits my near sited glasses and is large enough for many other things. The two pockets at the front are large enough for extra keys/make-up/receipts/tissues etc.The bag is truly 'the tardis' of bags. Even fully laden it's not bulky and annoying.Love the monkey key chain and have kept it on (even though I'm mid 40s).Would thoroughly recommend this bag.

A fashionable and very functional bag. It's not going to set the world on fire design wise - but it's built to last and will even survive a 30degree machine wash and come up like new. Perfect size for all my stuff and will even double up as a bit of a nappy bag for my toddler - as there is plenty of room for a couple of nappies and a slim pack of wipes. After much deliberation I decided on true blue which is basically navy blue and should go with the majority of my wardrobe and be perfect for autumn. Am already thinking about what colour I may buy for spring... Also thanks Amazon for fantastic delivery!

This was my first experience of Kipling bags & it is so good that I keep looking for more!It is compact yet roomy & light weight. There is plenty of space, even with all my usual stuff in it. The numerous pockets enable me to keep organised. It is a great bag, I would recommend it to anyone

I bought this bag for a day to day bag -- i can get my essentials in it make up,brush,purse ,phone,sunglasses,small bottle of water and a small umbrella.It is handy because it has 2 main compartments so i can keep these things organised
