The Blood we Crave: Part Two (The Hollow Boys)

this series has my whole heart this year
4.5/5 Stars! The way I am obsessed with this series... These characters are so unique and so intriguing that I can't help but to be fully invested in them. This series is just written in a way that is almost like a frog slowly boiling a pot of water... you know what I mean? I didn't realize how attached and how deeply I was going to crave this series. I'm almost sad to start the last book because I'm worried, I'll be devastated to leave this world. The second installment of The Blood We Crave did have a brief moment of a lull where there was some fluff that could have been removed, but otherwise this whole series is perfection! This book and the metaphors drawn between Thatcher and Lyra is honestly just beautiful in a macabre sense. I was so enthralled to see how Lyra's obsession began. I'm so glad we continue to see the bromance friendship between the boys too. I live for their vulnerable moments.

2nd Strongest Of Series, Part One is The Best
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Part 2 didn't hit quite as good as Part 1, but it was still arguably one of the stronger books of this series. I think I would've enjoyed The Blood We Crave more as a singular book. Having Lyra & Thatcher's story broken down into 2 parts created a sort of fracture in the telling of their story. However, that's only a personal preference. All in all, they have the best book(s) of the bunch. Their backstory... their origins, make them the most fascinating and endearing couple. Despite this being farfetched in a realistic-to-life way, it was still believable in the confines of this fictional tale.I appreciated there being fewer inner monologues than in previous books. It went a long way towards making this a more breezy type of reading experience... meaning I didn't have to step away from it nearly as often. Those excessive inner monologues can be tedious af.I'm very sore about how frustrated I've been throughout this series with those darn things (inner monologues). Had they been toned down or replaced with something more engaging, this would've been a top-teir dark romance series for me. It's still a standout, and I'm grateful for the reading journey, but the flaws somewhat dominated my overall experience. Mind you, I still have one book left to go. Having already completed the 4 books, I'm now fully expecting it to have a few issues also and I'm resigned to it. I've come this far. I'm invested in these guys, and Silas awaits...

Electric, Emotional, Sanguinary
✨Book Review ✨The Blood We Crave: Part Two (314 pages)Book 4 of the Hollow Boys series⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ (spicy & steamy)❤️🩹❤️🩹 (level 2 angst)This is a duet. I read part 1 in April and we left off on a cliffhanger. Now any normal person would actually read part 2 right after...not I. I somehow got distracted for 2 months then randomly decided I need to get back to it. And I'm so glad I did! Monty Jay's storytelling and overall writing is so amazing! They're meticulous about the writing and it is so obvious. That's 4 books I've read by them so far and each book have this very distinct vibe to them and no recycling. That is just genius writing in my opinion!Lyra and Thatcher are so electric! This book was beautifully macabre and uncharacteristically psychotic, and I loved it! This couple are absolutely unmatched y'all, I am stuck on them! And Lyra is such a babe, I love her. Thatcher, our Prince of Death, I couldn't help but fall for him. They're both so obsessed with each other, so protective of each other. Thatcher praise?!?! Ughhh...you will only understand what praise from Thatcher means if you've read this duet, just know it's 🥵I really don't wanna give anything away in this review. One last thing, check triggers and enjoy because I loved this, so I fully recommend 💜

Best couple yet.
This book is twisted and dark.Do you like blood, gore, torture? This is the Best book 2 of a couple I've read in a long time.Thatcher and Lyra are here again. The conclusion . Being stuck together in her cabin, everything comes to head. They take 5 steps forward, and 3 steps back. The mystery copycat is easy to pick out, yet, with some of the things written, it makes you think again. Lyra is just like Thatcher. These 2 are perfect for each other. They feed of each other in the best of ways. You learn so much about each of them that they become your favorite characters. No spoilers here.Oh Silas is back.

THATCHER <3333
Thatchy boy 🥹🫶🏻It feels so weird rating Thatcher and Lyra’s books separately because they just flow right into eachother I barely knew I was switching books 🤣 the development between these two in this - was so good. Thatcher’s hesitation towards wanting Lyra yet absolutely not wanting Lyra made me SCREAM - I’ve never read two more meant for eachother crazy lovebirds than these two I just wanted to shake them!!Lyra really blossoms out of her shell the more time she spends around the loner society and the hollow boys, and I love that for her. She is finding her people one by one. Thatcher and Lyra deserve all the happy endings, I love them forever. Also, the brand he gives her 🤭🥵❤️🔥 I think that might be a new fav microtrope (branding)What to expect:🔪 Serial Unaliver MMC x Stalker FMC🩸 Blood Kink💀 Revenge Plot😈 Dark Romance🌗 Opposites Attract🥵 I can’t have her, but you can’t either🏚️ Forced Proximity

THATCHER!!! I swear 🥹🖤
These books started off for me just to keep my reading streak going. As I read in to book 2-3 I found myself lost in the hollow boys series not knowing who would be next. The fact that I did not see who the copycat killer was has me mad at myself that it was obvious but not at the same time to me. On to the last book, and I am truly sad that this is now going to be another series I wish I could read for the first time again.

The tension & angst is thick; both their emotions laid out before them. Lyra owns every piece of herself, & she’s standing up for everything she wants. And, let's face it, there’s nothing she wants more than Thatcher Pierson.Just wow. I mean, the growth that happens in Thatcher from the very first book until now is immense. It’s such a beautiful thing to see him unfold & feel - to see him SEE himself. Move on & feel the things that he’s feeling – even though he doesn’t know how to explain them. The way he talks about Lyra when he's alone - about her beauty, her presence. Not to mention, 'existing in the pages of her favorite books' – the way I SWOONED!!ɪ ᴋɴᴏᴡ ᴛʜᴇʏ ᴄᴀʟʟ ʜɪᴍ ᴀ ᴘsʏᴄʜᴏᴘᴀᴛʜ. ᴛʜᴀᴛ ʜᴇ ɪs ᴛʜᴇ ᴅᴀʀᴋɴᴇss ᴛʜᴀᴛ ᴇᴀᴛs ᴛʜᴇ ʟɪɢʜᴛ. ᴀɴᴅ ɴᴏᴛʜɪɴɢ ᴀʙᴏᴜᴛ ʜɪᴍ ɪs ʀᴇᴍᴏᴛᴇʟʏ ʜᴜᴍᴀɴ. ʜᴇ ᴄᴀɴ'ᴛ ғᴇᴇʟ.ʙᴜᴛ ɪ ғᴇʟᴛ ʜɪs ʜᴇᴀʀᴛ ʙᴇɴᴇᴀᴛʜ ᴍʏ ʜᴀɴᴅs, ᴄᴏᴍᴍɪᴛᴛᴇᴅ ᴛʜᴇ sᴛᴜᴅʏ ʀʜʏᴛʜᴍ ᴛᴏ ᴍᴇᴍᴏʀʏ, ᴀɴᴅ ɪ ᴋɴᴏᴡ ɪᴛ ᴍᴀᴛᴄʜᴇs ᴍʏ ᴏᴡɴ. ɪᴛ's ᴀ ᴘᴀɪʀ, ʜɪs ᴀɴᴅ ᴍɪɴᴇ, ᴄʀᴇᴀᴛᴇᴅ ғʀᴏᴍ ᴛʜᴇ sᴀᴍᴇ ғʟᴇsʜ ᴀɴᴅ ᴍᴜsᴄʟᴇ ᴄʟᴇᴀᴠᴇᴅ ɪɴᴛᴏ ᴛᴡᴏ sᴇᴘᴀʀᴀᴛᴇ ʙᴏᴅɪᴇs.ᴅᴏ ʏᴏᴜ ᴋɴᴏᴡ ᴡʜᴀᴛ ɪᴛ's ʟɪᴋᴇ ᴛᴏ ɢᴏ ʏᴏᴜʀ ᴇɴᴛɪʀᴇ ʟɪғᴇ ᴀɴᴅ ɴᴇᴠᴇʀ ᴋɴᴏᴡ ɢᴇɴᴛʟᴇ? ʜᴏᴡ ᴛᴏ ʙᴇ ᴋɪɴᴅ? ᴛʜᴇɴ ʏᴏᴜ ᴍᴇᴇᴛ sᴏᴍᴇᴏɴᴇ ᴡʜᴏ ɪs ᴏᴠᴇʀғʟᴏᴡɪɴɢ ᴡɪᴛʜ ɪᴛ, ᴀɴᴅ sᴜᴅᴅᴇɴʟʏ, ʏᴏᴜ ᴄᴀɴ'ᴛ ʙᴇ ᴀɴʏᴛʜɪɴɢ ʙᴜᴛ sᴏғᴛ ᴊᴜsᴛ ғᴏʀ ᴛʜᴇᴍ?ʏᴏᴜ ᴛᴀsᴛᴇ ʟɪᴋᴇ ᴍʏ ғᴀᴠᴏʀɪᴛᴇ ɴɪɢʜᴛᴍᴀʀᴇ.ᴡʜᴇɴ ᴛʜᴇ sᴛᴀʀs ᴡᴇʀᴇ ᴅᴜsᴛ ᴀɴᴅ ᴛʜᴇ ᴜɴɪᴠᴇʀsᴇ ᴀ ʙʟᴀᴄᴋ, ᴇɴᴅʟᴇss ɴɪɢʜᴛ.ᴀ ᴍᴀɴ ᴡʜᴏ ғᴇᴀʀs ɴᴏᴛʜɪɴɢ ɪs ᴀғʀᴀɪᴅ ᴏғ ᴀʟʟ sʜᴇ ɪs. ᴀʟʟ sʜᴇ ᴍᴀᴋᴇs ᴍᴇ ᴡᴀɴᴛ. ᴀʟʟ sʜᴇ ᴍᴀᴋᴇs ᴍᴇ ғᴇᴇʟ.ᴀʟʟ ʏᴏᴜʀ ᴅᴀʀᴋᴇɴᴇss ɪs ᴍʏ ᴏᴡɴ. ᴡᴇ'ʀᴇ ᴛʜᴇ sᴀᴍᴇ.ᴛʜᴇ ɢʜᴏsᴛ ᴀɴᴅ ᴛʜᴇ ʙᴏʏ ᴡʜᴏ ᴡᴀs ᴡɪɴᴛᴇʀ.Part two was everything. I loved getting a few POVs from the other Hollow Boys – Thatcher & Alistair’s banter will forever be my favourite! In a way, this book felt like a goodbye. Bittersweet. With so much plot wrapped up. Though I still have one book to go, & I’m so utterly intrigued, but also scared AF because hi, it’s Silas.

idk
i loved it but OMG the spelling mistake made me want to scratch my eyes out, especially “expresso”. other than that, i think their story is one of the most beautiful and special ones i have read

obsessed is an understatement
Lyra and Thatcher own my soul. These two are meant to be in every lifetime. Their story was dark and twisted and full of twists, turns and revelations. They are hauntingly beautiful and oh so perfect for each other. They are complete opposites yet the same.Their stories are heartbreaking and you get to see how they came to be who they are and their reasons for it and you love them even more than you think possible. We got our conclusion to the plot and it didn’t disappoint, I was gripped from start to finish and didn’t want to put it down. I’m not sure where we go now with Silas’s story but I’m so ready and excited to see his story play out.

Loved it
I love a possessive MC like any other dark romance lover, but rarely we see a possessive fmc someone who loves without any boundary, and this book had in abundance, i just loved how Lyra loved, unconditional and no boundary. It was interesting and so beautiful to read.Thatcher is always going to be my fav hollow boy. That impeccable dry humor and his suits are now forever in my brain.

The duet ended with a bang!!!
I never have imagined that I would have fallen in love so much with the darkness that was lurking inside Thatcher and around Lyra...In the first books, I was craving their story, but I was never expecting that their love story would be so bloody and absolute...I adore each couple in this incredible series!!! I thought that the previous couples were adorably creepy, but the top place goes to Lyra and Thatcher!!!They gifted us with unbelievable moments and their love was one of the kind!!! Their love was carved by blood literally!!!The story picked up exactly where it left us...Thatcher is missing and every finger is pointing at him....A copycat killer is out for blood and Lyra is about to embrace the darkness inside of her in the name of love...No one can accuse Thatcher and can live to tell!!!They wanted a killer and she is about to give them one in the name of revenge...Is Thatcher alive or Lyra has to exist in a world without him???I love this story... It was gruesome from time to time, but very delicious in a very strange and unique way...I loved seeing Thatcher's walls to breaking down under Lyra's persistence...And I liked how Lyra embraced her true self...Yes, there was much darkness inside of them, but they are living in a very cruel and dangerous world!!!Ponderosa Springs is a place that I would preffer to avoid if it ever existed!!! LOL!!!I am really obsessed with the Hollow Boys since the very first chapter that I've read back into "The Lies We Tell"!!!In here, many mysteries were solved even though I missed Silas's presence a little too much!!!I am kinda sad when I am thinking that only one book has left into this world, but I am anticipating Silas's story!!!
