PAINFULLY LOUD EMERGENCY PERSONAL ALARM: For a self-defense device, you want it to be loud when you need it. These Personal Alarms are measured at 130-135 dB of loudness. As the dB (decibel) scale is logarithmic, it means that a sound at 130 DB is 10 times more intense than a sound at 120 DB and roughly doubles the loudness!! While 101-125DB is considered "extremely loud" (siren level), sound level at 130-135 dB is considered "Painful", which is the level you need when tries to deter someone away!!personal alarms will surely be your personal safeguard everywhere!!

It's a great way to bring attention to yourself if you are ...
I bought these for me and my girlfriend as we traveled Europe to have on us as more of a back up than anything if someone tried to grab a bag. Safe to say these things are loud! I accidentally pulled the alarm pin inside a supermarket and yes, everyone looked. It's a great way to bring attention to yourself if you are walking around at night or in a park. After the market incident, I tested them everywhere. Subway, Park, City Street and again they worked flawlessly. For us, we were walking around some dodgy parts of some cities with pickpockets and lurky people so being able to bring attention to you if needed was a good way to rest a little easier. In my opinion, it is a great way to bring attention to yourself in need but in a real robbery situation, you definitely would want more ( pepper spray for example). We live in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado and will definitely be using them for our Hiking/Backpacking and for me, it is a great alternative to an emergency whistle while backcountry snowboarding. (Would double as a great Bear Repellant with my experience of interactions in the wild a loud clap or yell does the trick and this ALARM IS LOUD). The light is a great added addition. There was no issue attaching it to my keys and carrying it through security of airports or nightclubs.

effective alarm with fashion
received both units today. actually, each is a quite fashionable key chain, and functional one too, with the flash light and the "loud" alarm. it took me a minute to figure out how to trigger the alarm (I was pressing all the buttons, it turns out the way to trigger is to unplug the cord. should have read the product description at amazon). anyway, once triggered, it made this loud voice that really scared my kids, i can imagine it must be super effective in emergency situation. awesome product!!

So I've been shopping for a personal alarm for a while and am very happy to have found this product
I bought these for my kids, who walk home from school. Although we live in a relatively safe neighborhood, there have been cases where strangers approach kids uninvitedly. So I've been shopping for a personal alarm for a while and am very happy to have found this product. I looked at some cheaper alternatives on Amazon as well, but chose to buy this one because of its more fashionable design. My teenagers wouldn't carry anything that they consider not cool. And this one has got their seal of approval! Of course, most importantly to me, it's very easy to use. You just pull the contact pin out, then the alarm goes off. To turn off the alarm, plug the pin back in. The alarm sound is as loud as my house alarm, which can definitely draw attention from passersby. My kids will start carrying them tomorrow, and fingers crossed they will never need to pull the alarm.

Loud enough to scare away an attacker
Gave as gifts to all the nurses at my job!! When we have to come and go during the night or early am, it can be very scary. Sometimes we will have shifts that run 3am to 3 pm due to short staffing. The neighborhood our facility is in is not the best in town, the facility is the best, but not the neighborhood. These alarms give some piece of mind, the really are loud when you pull them. We only have 2 male nurses, the rest are female. All of the CNA's are female as well so this is a great product for us to have.

Most important thing to me is that they work
Gave them as Christmas gifts but tried out both of them and they seem to be working great . I just wish I had gotten the ones that the chain pulls out as I think they would have been easier to pull than trying to find the cord in a hurry. For the price though I think they will work fine. Thanks

Great idea but fragile
My grandmother had problems with it going off. It broke and went off in a Dr's office and wouldn't stop. I had to literally crush it to get it stop.

Great product for the price.
This is a would buy again item. Super loud for it's size, small can fit into my pocket without a problem. I have one setup in my storage room as a hidden alarm.

EAR RATTLING LOUD
These are LOUUUUUDDD...when I pulled the pin in my Loft, they shrilled so loud, it was ear piercing. I'm putting one in my car and another on my keychain in the case some whacko tries something; hopefully this annoying noise will give me a few seconds to pivot and get away.
