Most of the sounds are not relaxing. They actually scare my kids. White noise comes across all sounds, so 2 sounds come through. It is intermittent, so some times it's the sound they want, sometimes it's 2. The white noise over powers the other sound.

This alarm clock is a great value. It is fairly easy to use and has lots of sound and color options. I ordered it for my guest room and I am pretty proud of it. It is one of the more inexpensive options I have seen.

I bought this white noise alarm clock for my son who couldn't sleep well. He's been sleeping all night now, and there's a simulated sunrise alarm clock to wake him up in the morning. He won't lose his temper again in the morning!!! I hope I can get this early. The volume is very high, there are many sound options, and the sound quality is very good. This is the most worthwhile shopping I have ever done.

Ordered this for our guest room and to help with baby nap time.Unfortunately, the settings are challenging to navigate through, and for a 'guest' it was more hassle than it was worth and it just kept getting unplugged and reset.If you have it on a sound setting in the middle, and you want to turn it OFF, it seems like you have to cycle all the way through instead of just holding down the button or having an OFF switch. Same with the brightness - wanted to be able to turn off the nightlight versus cycle through additional settings that are sometimes brighter and then disrupt sleep. There should be a way to hold down the button to turn off the sound/light, otherwise it's hard to use.There are a lot of colors to choose from, but even the dimmest option is still pretty bright so ended up leaving it off most of the time.Not a fan of only having the military time option versus an AM/PM setting to select from.I think the variety of settings are nice, but it made it overly complicated and challenging to use. going to have to go with a simpler sound machine with clock.

Going back and forth in my head about how to rate this clock/sound machine, I finally decided that it deserves a 4- rating, which of course defaults to 4 stars. It's a nice thing to have around once you figure out how to use this and work around its quirks.First off, it only reads military time. In other words, from 0:01 to 24:00 hours. That means that 1:30Pm will read as 13:30 hours. Even if you don't know how to read military time and have never done so, it's easy enough to learn, though will take some practice once you get past 1PM. That's when I start doing math. Eventually, I'll get to know how this corelates to AM/PM with practice. Having used it in the past for at a job booking airlines, I'm familiar with it, but out of practice. I actually like the idea of relearning this enough so that I can ditch the math lessons.The sounds are okay. The birds are my favorite. Some of the white noise ones are kind cheesy and not as pleasant as I'd prefer. They are all just low quality sounds. You'll find those you prefer and do the trick for you.I'm still trying to get the programming down. You know, trying to remember which buttons do what and how long to press them and for whatever controls. The other issue that I am having is that I find the buttons to not be as sensitive as I need them to be. Often I have to fiddle with them a bit to get them to engage. Not the best well made device. It does work though and has its uses.Oh, do be aware that this must plug into a USB outlet. Will not plug into a standard electrical outlet and it must be plugged in at all times in order to function. That can be a pain if you don't have the right hookups handy. Does not come with a USB charger, so you will need to provide one for yourself.It's nice to have one device that can function as a clock, a nightlight and a sound machine all in one. Best advice that I can give you is to play with this thing for a while to get to know it and how it works. You won't hurt anything by doing so. That will be your learning curve. Plus you'll need to be able to read military time, but that is easy to learn once you get going.
