This is a nice bright light enabling all those things where you need TWO hands. I can’t comment on durability, it’s new, but the light is nice and bright. It is NOT zoomable as the advertisement states.

I did a prior terrible review of this product, and it was my fault. I inserted the wrong battery...AAA instead of AA, of coarse they did not work.Actually, I have used about 10 different head lamps, and this is my favorite one. I was reluctant to go to the 3 straps AA, they look a lot heavier, and I like the light headpiece. I usually wear a cap, I could barly notice the wieght change from the smaller headlamps, even though it 'looks' a lot heavier. I can't give any scientific data, but the hours are much long on the AA. It would bet twice as long...you can really notice the difference.The best part though is that new technology, where the beam is super tight in a circle, used to inspect things at night. Has a great zoom feel, easy on off, but the beam is really delightful, less strain on seeing the specifics at night . Bet headlamp I have ever uses.

I have owned some expensive big-name headlamps for backpacking which functioned well yet they all failed eventually, just like cheaper units. This lamp from Lightess functions easily with one simple switch, the high beam is reasonably bright, the low beam is nice for when you don't need full strength, and the flashing setting is good for aggravating people and maybe in an emergency. I like the fact that these use 3 AA batteries - a little more weight which you hardly notice since it is in a separate pack at the rear of your head, but worth it for increased run time! Despite what the product description might claim, the focus is NOT adjustable, so I deduct one star. Not a deal breaker for me but something to be aware of.These lamps are decent quality and functionality for a reasonable price. If you like the specs (for example, 3 AA batteries vs AAA or rechargeable batteries, fixed focal length beam, etc.) these make a good choice for general use. I keep multiple sets around the house, for myself and my wife.When shopping for headlamps, I've noticed multiple 'brands' which seem to differ only in the headbands, the actual light module appearing the same. I've purchased several of these from different 'brands' to compare, because I do like the basic headlamp itself. The headlamp and battery pack have been identical, the 'brand' difference is the logo on the headband. They cost about the same - buy the one that is cheaper or has the color you like, etc.Note: It looks like this particular model is 'currently unavailable'. Look for one of it's twins.

Good price. Was looking for AA battery headlamp. Just got it. If it sucks I'll lower the stars

Very bright also fits pretty goodI wear it with a hat no hat and even ziptie it to a hard hat when I have to . Very good light!!!

I initially purchased an identical headlamp at the hardware store. It worked very well for my projects, so I wanted to purchase a few more as Christmas stocking gifts for members of my family. I looked to Amazon for a wider selection and lower cost. I was not disappointed by the three I ultimately purchased - they are great! Well-made, reliable, bright, comfortable to wear, useful, and fun (think family puzzle night with lights out and headlamps on), plus they offer the added benefit of color options during order placement so that each person can easily identify their own headlamp. Delivery was prompt and the protective packaging was spot-on for the product...pun intended ;-)

Had this unit for several weeks and find it excellent, except that the switch has to be cycled through all the options [high low & flash] when turning it on and off.Otherwise it is perfect and uses 3AA batteries not the much smaller AAA type.UPDATE....Last night I bent over and the light fell off my hat onto the carpeted floor and the hinge broke .... making this item pretty much useless.Be aware of this if you consider purchasing this item.

Bought to use while working on my cars. Light is very bright and has an adjustable narrow/wide focused beam. The battery case cover is weak and will pop open if dropped from just a couple feet. Looks like it may not last. Worst of all the straps are at largest setting, stretched to maximum but still too tight and uncomfortable. Had to cut off the over the top strap as it would pull the light up.
