Q: 1. If you attach them to a normal standard light switch, can you turn them on and off, or do you have to use the app/Alexa/google?

Yes, they can be turned in and off with a wall light switch. BUT, I tied to use a dimmer switch at first and the lights would flicker when on with other lights. The app is fine for the dimming and changing colors
