Found any gold?
Found any gold? Hahaha, they say,one after the other...the answer is YES ! In this series .A gentle style of comedy and they don't ever take the Mick out of the metal detectorists they areportraying in this series. The style of the production is classy and comfortable, and special mentionto the CGI team, check out the magpies, sheer BRILLIANCE. Great acting and scripts , top notch allthe way. I imagine it's quite close to how detectorist clubs and their little get togethers are. A veryfunny series. Love it, give it a look if it pops up on TV again, I'm sure you'll love it!

Just superb
I was able to view these progs first time around but husband couldn’t. So the box set became an obvious gift solution. He is now a dedicated fan of the series and two main characters.

One of the best sitcoms I have watched in years.
What a fabulous and original sitcom. The situation is obvious from the title. The cast characters are a wonderful mix of straight talking misfits and eccentrics and and most would never be considered socially ‘normal’ either.I’m in the ASD spectrum, and I have so many cookie issues with people, although none of these character identified as ASD, it was nice to see the people I’ve known and grown up around in a sense.I’ve read a review from a real Detectorist, whom said it was down to the note realistic in the people, equipment and situations. There was not one character that I did not like. The cast of Mackenzie Crook, Toby Jones, Rachel Stirling, Pearce Quigley, Gerard Horan, and Simon Farnaby and the late, great and beautiful, Diana Rigg! The Detectoring hobbies take a back seat, it’s the beautiful situation that takes centre stage, the rubbish talk, the socialisation of people that have no one else but each other.Relationships struggle under their hobbies, relationships break and build, and enemies are made.It has some beautiful moments, moments that make you laugh out loud and situations that make you angry and want to strangle the characters and isn’t that what you want in a sitcom?I want characters like me or close enough to me that I can connect or they’re so likeable I don’t care.It feels like The Good Life, I feels like Fawlty Towers, like a real classic of the era. (Saying that, I really hate modern sitcoms! Can not get away with them.)Now, I’ve ramble enough on the merits on why I think you should but this dvd.So, the round of my review is this: You don’t have to understand metal detecting to see real people in a real hobby being real funny in real life. It’s a series that has made me laugh during a time when life is uncertain (Lockdown and COVID) and it is a wonderful sitcom, a real treasure.Maybe not everyone will love it as much as me, but I’ll be hard done by to think you won’t find someone to laugh with or enjoy the situations. In the dvd box set you get three singular dvd cases, 1 disc each. The menus are basic with special features (I haven’t watched them, but I will at some point) a play all, ep selection and subtitles too.Series 2 has the Xmas special, which you need to watch all of series two then the Christmas special if you’re watching in a chronological order.Anyway, I’ve rabbited in enough, I haven’t spoilt too much and I hope you find my review helpful. Thanks for reading, stay safe.
