Q: Can this barn door be installed on older plaster walls?

It is very heavy. It cannot be installed in plaster wall. At least, it has to be screwed in firm stud. You need a stud finder and location of stud has to be align with height of this door.

Q: How thick are the glass panels?

The glass is about 1/8” thick — I can’t measure exactly because the metal frame. The metal frame is about 1.5” thick

Q: Would this door let too much lights out to interfere with those sleeping at night?

Dear,if you want to use this frosted glass door for the bedroom door,maybe there is a little dim light through the glass,not that kind of dazzling light.
