BT610 Dual Band Wi-Fi USB Dongle, Black

I needed a Wi-fi dongle for a PC I recently purchased which didn’t have Wi-fi built in and also having my PC upstairs and the router being downstairs. It’s now connected to my BT Hub 6 with super fast speeds of 400mbps +!! Running Windows 10. I couldn’t be happier, great purchase! The only downside was when setting up, the user guide states “Do NOT insert the dongle into your computer until prompted by the online instructions” Having no connection to the internet, I had to lug my whole computer downstairs and connect it to my router using the Ethernet cable. The link in the user guide to set up the dongle is no longer available, but I did find it after I googled “bt dongle 610 install”. After that, very easy to install. So apart from that, it’s great! It most certainly does job. I would definitely recommend this product!

Not that good, the instruction to log onto the internet to install did not work. It took a fair bit of time to get it to connect and considering it is only in the room above is very hit and miss.

Works well

Purchased this to go with a new Home Hub 5 as it was an upgrade to my BT 600 dongle and has upgraded components. However, even after following the instructions of how to install this dongle and using the most up to date drivers for Windows 10, this dongle didn't work.After install, the blue light on the dongle was on, which shows that it is working.....wrong! Attempting to connect this to the network (HH5), it stated that it couldn't connect to the network. Checked I was inputting the correct password and I was and still it wouldn't work. Checked device manager to find that it wasn't enabled! Enabled it and it still wouldn't connect.Attempted to complete the installation again, this time using a USB 2 slot then a USB 3 slot....still not connecting. (using USB 2 or 3 shouldn't be a problem). Uninstalled, re-installed the drivers, still not connecting. In the end I went to the BT forums and left a message...however, I didn't get a reply.So packed it up and went back to my BT600 dongle which worked fine. So this is now getting returned for a refund.Did a bit of research and purchased the following: NETGEAR A6210-100PES AC1200 802.11AC Dual Band (300 Mbps / 867 Mbps) High Gain Wi-Fi USB 3.0 Adapter Once received, unpacked the dongle, downloaded the latest drivers from Netgear, installed the drivers, connected the dongle, input the password in the wifi settings and it verified itself and connected straight away. Thanks very much Netgear for a item that does what it is supposed to do. Shame on you BT, for a rubbish wifi dongle, that looking at it now, is over priced by £20!!Don't waste your money and time on the BT 900, get the Netgear A6210, it works with Windows 10 and a BT Home Hub 5

This dongle works straight out of the box with very little to do in terms of configuration on Windows 10. Also, the upload and download speeds, as well as browsing speeds are absolutely fine too. Much recommended.

I got this for my Wife who uses her laptop at the furthest point from our router. We have just upgraded from a BT Home Hub 3 router to a newer BT Home Hub 4. The BT Home Hub 3 only used a single 2.4 GHz wireless signal but the BT Home Hub 4 uses both a 2.4 GHz and a 5 GHz signal. This dongle could take advantage of the 'new' 5 GHz.My wife plugged in the dongle and pretty quickly gave cries of delight at a sudden boost in her surfing ability. It was a dramatic the speed difference. Sites that had taken minutes to load were coming up massively faster. Our internet connection speed is ridiculously slow, from 0.7 Mb/s to a fast (for us) 2.5 Mb/s so any speed improvement that could be grabbed was important.Although using Powerline Ethernet connections is an option when there is a power socket available, one advantage of a Laptop or Tablet is it's portability, so have a speed boost from a dongle like this can be the difference between despair and usability. We definitely recommend this product, although there may be newer / cheaper / faster versions around.

My desktop pc has to be in an upstairs room with no wired phone connection, hence the need for a wifi dongle. I have been using the older BT600 version for the past three years but recently it started losing connection frequently. I upgraded to Infinity Broadband two weeks ago and the problem got worse, so I invested in this new version. It is much smaller than the old one and so far, so good. No drop outs and a five bar signal. I am very happy with it. I should add that installation was simplicity itself. I had it up and running in no time with no hassle. I am running Windows 10.
