Castle Knight Soft Memory Foam Back Cushion - Tapered Support More Foam in The Lower Back and Less Foam in The Middle and Upper Back for Home, Office, Auto, and Travel (Knight Size, Nightfall)

Bought for my 88 year old mother who spends a great deal of time sitting in her chair (also bought from Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001BX3FAW/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 - the chair is padded but a bit deep for her so her back needed extra support. This product has just arrived and she says it fits her back perfectly- offering support that seems soft and therefore comfortable, but is firm enough. (She weighs 98 lbs and is about 4'11" tall- I do not know if a heavier, larger person would find this adequate- but I weigh about 125 and and 5'4" tall, and find it comfortable.) She likes the fact that it rises up to her shoulder blades, preferring it to the ones that only support the lower back - I should say that the top portion is not as thick as the bottom, so one feels it only when leaning back (which is fine, as she is supposed to practice sitting straight to strengthen her back muscles). It fits well over the memory foam seat cushion she uses on top of the chairs own padding. The cover is breathable and pleasantly textured, unlike others I have seen in stores. Also, it is removable for washing (because it has just arrived, I cannot comment on how it will stand up to washing.) The straps come with a handy expansion section as well as being adjustable; the strap fasteners are easy to use and they and the straps seem well made.. The product comes with a drawstring bag into which it can fold-which will be useful for when we need to use her transport wheelchair, the back of which lacks support. Altogether intelligently thought-out and excellent product.

The product came in great packaging and is overall really good quality.I'd say if you don't have back problems and just want comfort this is great, otherwise it could be a little lacking, as there is not much support, and very little/thin foam.This could also be a good option for the people out there that don't like the bigger and sturdier back support pillows, but overall I'd say this is more of a comfy pillow, because it follows the shape of your back and it is well designed in that sense, but there is hardly any actual sturdy support like some of the other lower back pillows out there.

So this just arrived. I HAD to buy it after reading the company’s creative description of their product! The back support arrived in a very secure vacuum sealed wrapper. They were kind enough to include a further colorful explanation of the delivery process. I LOVE these people at the Castle Company!!! I just sat down with this product and am VERY impressed with the better support I get for my lower back and the comfort it provides my upper back. The size is bigger than a previous back support I ordered from Amazon and instead of having a horizontal quarter moon type of support, the cushioning provides much more consistent support all across the lumbar region! This design gives more relief than the traditional back support cushions! I think I’m gonna really appreciate it as I get some use out of it! Thank you Castle Company! Please NEVER quit describing things as you do!! Your use of the English language is phenomenal!!!

When I first sat down using this backrest, I audibly gave a sigh of relief! So comfy and supportive. It came with a really nice carrying bag. I don't need it, but it would be great for someone working both at home and the office and want the support in both places. I do wish the strap, thought adjustable, could be made a little snugger. But the backrest adjusts to fit comfortably.

I only ordered this support backrest because it was white in the photo. I have a white chair. When it arrived it was definitely light grey. Disappointed. I had many better products to choose from if I wanted a grey color.

I bought an office chair that turns out to be a little too deep for me, so sitting in it for extended periods pains my back. Therefore,I went looking for a back-rest cushion that could help. This product is not it...not by any means. The cushion is insubstantial in its firmness and support. It feels like nothing. The filling is so thin and squishes so much that it hardly adds even thickness to the chairs back, let alone offering any support. Sadly, it comes packaged shrink-wrapped in plastic and then into a small paper-fiber cylinder. Once you open the shrink-wrap, it is impossible to put it back into the cylinder. And since I've taken it from the shrink-wrap, I don't feel I can send it back. It's going in the trash. It wasn't the most expensive item in the world ($23; so I kick myself for not realizing by the price that it would be poor quality), but expensive if you consider that it didn't "work" at all. My advice is not to buy this cushion "backrest". Just the term "backrest" is a lie.

This cushion is on my desk chair and helps give me great back and shoulder support! So glad I ordered it!

Just the right size. Soft cover, firm support. Perfect shaping, including cutout to avoid extra pressure on lower spine. Only downside is that the straps are not long enough (even with the extension) to secure the support to our La-Z-Boy recliners, which are about 6' around. It took two extensions to work, which means one of our supports is not held in place. It still works. Just somewhat inconvenient as far as placement.

The key with this product is that it also has the shoulder rests which most other products do not. In my opinion, if you're going to use a product like this every day at work or you drive a lot you might as well spend a bit more and get something better. I'm enjoying it so far and my pain has decreased. However, if you still sit uninterrupted for many hours than it won't correct all your problems. That's not on a backrest to do.
