Airport treatment sturdy and still looks new!
Stands up to rough airport treatment! Glides easy. So convenient and easy to pull along even for a woman in her 70’s! Convenient compartments and gripping straps where needed and love the side zippers outside for charging cables so you can easily get to them. Very sturdy and holds up to the rough treatment and stacking tons of weight on top of it at the airport. Holds a lot at a manageable size.

Sturdy suitcase and good wheels
This is a great suitcase. The wheels on my previous American Tourister suitcase were a huge hassle - they wouldn't stay aligned or go straight, ever. The wheels on this Samsonite suitcase are like butter. I can easily roll it with 2 wheels or 4 wheels and change directions with zero effort. The size meets TSA standards for checked luggage. I like all of the compartments. There are 2 outside the suitcase, 2 pockets inside the suitcase, plus a small plastic pouch attached to the inside for storing smaller items. I recently used it on a train trip that involved a lot of walking with it around the station, as well as some outside walking with it. It worked perfectly and shows no wear even after rough handling.

Easy to move through airport.
Good for suit, dress and four shirts. Only ladies dress shoes. Also two belts and ties. Very stable when pulled. No visible wear after two round trips. Is too large to go in an overhead bin, is real luggage.

Carry-On will no longer fit USA carriers
Many USA carriers banded together and started to use the same size dimensions for carry-on luggage. While this is great and reduces confusion, the problem is that the made the size smaller, which means 60% of all luggage marked carry-on is now too big. Luckily I just bought this, and can return it, else I would be upset. It will not fit American Airlines, Delta, etc. Other than that, it is great luggage.

Good luggage
They are good luggage. Light weight. Wheels are smooth. Easy on travel. When not used, you can store the smaller ones inside the big one to save the storage space.

A major downgrade from Samsonite's previous offerings, garbage in 7 trips
After 22 years, the handle on my trusty Samsonite rolling garment bag (of identical dimensions and form-factor of this item) finally broke. The warranty on that bag was for 10 years, so a 22-year run was amazing. I purchased this bag to replace it, and I have no confidence that this bag will last anywhere near as long. - The skid plate across the bottom that protects the bag when dragged off of a curb or baggage cart is gone from the new model. I expect the cloth on the wheel side of the bag to fray and wear through. - The skid plates that protect the wheels from damage on baggage conveyor belts are gone. - The main handle is now just a piece of cloth rather than a solid handle. I had to wrap it in a pad so that it was not painful to carry. - The telescoping handle is now 3 inches shorter. The bag now hits the heals of my shoes as I walk with it and I have to crouch down while rolling it. - The interior "shoulder" pockets are much smaller and less padded and can no longer fit a shoe inside. In the older bag these pockets were ideal for carrying fragile items wrapped up in padding, inside a shoe, and inside a reinforced corner. They are much less secure now. - The wheels are of a smaller diameter and look to be less sturdy. - The zipper pulls are all smaller and the zippers themselves are less substantial and are thin plastic like you would find on a gym bag. Other reviews have noted that the zippers can break, so I am being extremely careful with them. The overall formfactor of this bag remains fantastic, but I expect to have to replace it again in just a few years, making it not a good value. There are other similar bags now, and I will likely shop other brands for my next purchase as the quality that Samsonite had at the turn of the millennium is just no longer there. July 2024 update: It lasted 6 trips. On the seventh, the hanger holder broke and it is now no longer a hanging garment bag, and is ready for the trash. Meanwhile, I was able to replace the handle on my now 23-year-old Samsonite bag with a length of cotton strap and it is now back in service as my main travel bag.

Well worth it.
Reliable. Classic. Effective. My first one lasted 14 years of globetrotting- decided to get a second as it was just starting to show wear around the internal lining and didn't want to be without one.
