The first copy second hand LP was scratched so they sent me a different copy that was great

The last 40 years have seen the release of a plethora of 'best of/greatest hits' packages in relation to Neil's extensive recorded output. Some of these are so seemingly comprehensive that it would be easy for those who have these samplers to assume they have the essential Neil Diamond output. Big mistake. There are several tracks on 'Moods' that are as strong as, and in some cases, even better than the songs chosen for all those compilations. Do yourself a favour. Buy this album. Listen to it from start to finish. Enjoy the ones you know and marvel at the ones you have never heard before. You have had 40 years to get this 1972 release. Neil at his greatest in my opinion. Wonderful rich voice and truly lovely lush happy songs to enjoy. Once 'porcupine pie' gets in your head (or on your jeans)you are in for a good good time. I adore this album.It would be remiss of me not to mention my favourite 'canta libre'. Astonishing. Neil Diamond is a genius.

I purchased this album in the early 1970s on vinyl. I now also own it on cd,this is Neil Diamond,in my opinion at his creative best,although it is true to say many superb albums were to follow. CANTA LIBRE and MORNINGSIDE are exquisite to the ear,both in lyrics and musicianship.As a Neil Diamond fan,my advice is to buy this cd. You will not regret it.

このアルバムに出会ったのは、中学生のころ。たしかNHK-FMの番組で聴いていました。その後レコードを買い求め、20年近く前にケアンズを旅行していたときに「Serenade」とともにCDを手に入れました。ずっと大事に聴いていました。ニールダイアモンドを知っている人はとても少ないと思います。いまではこうしてネットから簡単に、たくさんのCDが手に入るようになりましたが、このCDと前後して発表された、「Serenade」、かもめのジョナサンの映画音楽のころが最も美しい曲だと思います。ニールダイアモンドを知っている方ならたぶん必ず持ってるCDだと思いますが、初めての方や聴いたことがない方はとてもお勧めします。ぜひ聴いてみて下さい。
