HISPEEDIDO For GBA SP V5 Drop in Laminated IPS 3.0 inch Highlight Screen Mod NO TRIMMING Need

This HISPEEDIDO V5 drop-in IPS screen completely transformed my Game Boy Advance SP. The brightness is honestly the first thing that hits you. With multiple brightness levels and a really strong backlight, the screen looks great indoors and is still super clear even in bright rooms. The display quality is excellent. Colors look clean and vibrant without being over-saturated, and the viewing angles are way better than the original screen. The laminated design also makes everything look sharper since there’s no gap between the lens and the display. Installation was much easier than I expected. It really is a drop-in upgrade, and you only need to solder one wire if you want full brightness control using the GBA button. Even for someone who isn’t experienced with modding, it’s very straightforward and doesn’t require cutting the shell. Overall, if you want a brighter, sharper, and easier-to-install screen upgrade for the GBA SP, this is definitely one of the best options out there.

Works really well! Has a ton of brightness settings and it's as easy as a drop in solution. The screen is a bit larger than the original and has a larger resolution (relatively) so it looks quite sharp and very nice! One thing to note though is that you have to be careful about what shell you are dropping it into. It fits perfectly into an OEM shell, but if you are using a custom shell from a different manufacturer like IFunnyPlaying, then it won't fit well and have a bit of wobble. You just have to make sure that the shell you get isn't trimmed for a modded display, and you should be good to go.

Easy install, even for the button brightness wire if you have a soldering iron and are careful with the ribbon cable. Screen menu is easy to navigate and the image quality and brightness options are great. Great bang for your buck.

Looks awesome and was very easy to install! The brightness and color settings are neat and I love that you don't *have* to soder to use them, you can just touch the screen in the right spot. This kit included good quality screwdrivers and the needed wires to soder the brightness and color controls to the brightness button if you wished.

Installation was painless. Screen is perfect. No dead pixels. Touch buttons work to change the brightness and the color for I guess GB games or some other reason. This screen has fantastic brightness and sharp image quality. Huge improvement from the stock screen that was washed out by the front light. There are no issues to report 1 day after installation. I'll let you know in a year how it's holding up.

It was easy to install. I like that it is pre-laminated, so I don't have to fool with trying to align the screen just right. The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars, is because it randomly goes to max brightness without being touched. I'll just be playing a game and it will gradually increase brightness until it gets to the maximum. That said I like how bright it can be, I just don't need it to be bright all the time. I've noticed little to no ghosting compared to other models. Fits perfectly in an IPS upgrade shell. If I can figure out the brightness issue, I'll probably order another for my other SP.

I was really expecting some snags or surprises in this "drop in" replacement, but up to the very end this was absolutely painless. This screen looks great and it is literally a plug and play replacement. At full brightness it looks like a modern handheld screen and is playable in any light. Only two caveats that you should be aware of going in: -if you are lazy (like me) and don't want to wire the screen button for on-screen controls, the brightness is controllable from a hidden touchspot on the bottom right of the screen bezel. It cycles up through 15 brightness settings. I couldn't figure this out at first and was worried about the screen brightness being inconsistent, but this little spot gives you all the control you really need. -It doesn't have backing foam for the screen (like the official ones have installed) but I recommend having a little bit of packing foam to insert for stability. It gives the thing a little shockproofing.

Oh my goodness! I recently just upgraded my aged SP from teenage years and from video reviews this was the top recommended screen. The price can give you a bit of sticker shock especially if you purchased a secondhand unit and a new shell on top of this but let me tell you this is the most important investment you can make with a gameboy sp. Visually this makes the 16 bit graphics POP and I don't mean slightly noticeable like this out of this world better. The installation is really a drop and go process unless you want to solder in the extra wire but it's not required.

This is a great screen. No modifying of the case or using special thin spacers in the case to keep it centered. Just remove the old screen and this one drops right in. Only extra bit of work is soldering a tiny wire up to the backlight button on the motherboard if you want to use that button to change the brightness or other little bit of options. I didn't bother, because I want it full power and at the regular settings. But you can swipe and hold at the bottom of the screen to do all these things too if you want, it is just not as nice as the little menu with the wire to the button. Which you would likely only use once or twice before forgetting about it. Screen is very bright and well made. Soooooooooooooooo much better than the original screen in both quality and backlight brightness. Which is understandable since the original came out 24 years ago as of this year. Comes with a nice set of the fancy little screwdrivers needed for the case to get it open. Good buy. Was more expensive then buying it directly from the manufactures website, but worth it as you save on shipping from Asia and the possible 2+ weeks it can take to get here. Very happy with the screen. Will keep my gameboy sp going for another 24+ years :-)

Simplemente increíble pantalla. En cuanto al envío soy de México y me llegó en tres días aunque decía que tardaba más. Venía muy bien protegida con plástico de burbujas y en una cajita de plástico. En cuanto a la instalación créanme no es nada difícil, lo único que requiere trabajo es desarmar y armar la consola, pero en YouTube hay muchos tutoriales solo busquen el modelo. Lo mejor es que no tuve que soldar nada, los botones táctiles funcionan perfecto, en el video muestro como cambia el brillo, un poco al centro donde dice Advance si presionan cambia el filtro de color y si dejan presionado cambian el estilo de pixel.

Es touch screen, viene con el cable para soldar pero NO es necesario, es fácil de poner si la carcasa no se tiene que modificar, buen producto y una buena opción como updgrade! Por cierto, si… tiene el nombre que no se puede poner en la pantalla por copyright hahaha

Compared to the front-lit screen that came with my AGS-001 in 2002, this screen is incredible. Bright and colourful! I chose the non-solder approach and found the touch buttons to adjust brightness kind of finicky. I'll be doing the soldered approach the next time I have it apart (perhaps to upgrade to a cool transparent shell). This screen should be your first upgrade if you have an old AFS-001.
