Trail Gator Bike Tow Bar for 16", 18" and 20" Bikes - Black

Unlike others, it didn't seem too complex or challenging to fit - although maybe I did something wrong, so far so good... It is a fantastic product, which has allowed us to go out cycling as a family for the first time: my 4 year-old son is now hitched up on the back of my bike, whilst my 6 year old can manage distances of 7 - 8 miles without problem on his own bike.

Highly dangerous!Bought it for our 4,5y daughter. Assembly requires some technical understanding and a special tool, a torque wrench. Just a little warning - don’t even think of Not using one as the child bike will tip over sidewards! Applying the relatively high Nm from the user manual made the U-bracket on the child bike snap. Bottom line is that the material isn’t strong enough to attach it safely and with less strength it is not safe on the road either. Sent it back - shame good idea, but poor execution.

I love the fact I can now take my 4yr old son out for a ride over a fair distance to build his confidence to ride his bike.Only negatives found are the build quality of some components is poor. Cheap/weak alloy on quick release attaching on to child's bike, replaced a nuts with stronger ones. Most importantly as mentioned it needs to be fully tightened onto child's bike to avoid it sliding. I wrapped several times with electrical tape and used a couple of peices of plastic large and thick enough to reduce damage to bike frame.

REALLY dissapointed, have shopped around for a solution to tow my sons bike back from school on daily rides to help a) to exercise and his bike confidence and b) save on fuel on the daily school run.Having one of the more expensive bikes of a 20" wheel range I did not want to leave his bike in the school bike shed, mainly as other kids his age have bikes and scooters in there and have no consideration for other people property and swing their scooters round damaging others bikes/scooters etc.Having gone to fit the receiver within this product to his bike tonight, the headtube on his bike is too wide to fit the u-bend theaded screw/bolts round.Would ideally like to see more options in the receivers to allow fitment to bikes with a wider headtube. I feel that having read some other reviews, the U-bend shaped threaded bolt should come with rubber sleeves to stop the bike the receiver is being attached to from being damaged.His bike is an Orbea MX20 xc for reference but cannot find any detailed sizes for the width of the headtube in the technical geometry sizes on his bikes handbook.

Good but a pain in the bum to put on and off.

This is a great product. It enables us all to go for a proper bike ride as a family. It is great on the road and if you can find a traffic free cycle path is also daptable if the little one wants to go it alone. We can also go on the bike whilst Daddy is running. We all love it. It will also grow with the bikes as they get bigger.

This is a dreadful product. Poor design, terrible instructions and most importantly just very unsafe. I shall be returning this.

works well, fillers and attachments of different sizes are supplied to fit different sized bikes. We needed to tighten it to the child's bike frame very well to stop sideways movement. It will damage the paintwork on the child bike when you tighten it.
