This cleaver is excellent for the price. Sturdy, good looking and sharp. I did notice a bit of an edge (as some other reviewers mentioned) but I took 5 minutes and softened it up with my Dremel and it's fine.

Very strong, sturdy knife with a nice holder at a cheapest price; good weight, thickness and balance, very sharp and hard enough to chop bones and coconuts, unbelievable! If some rivets protrude a little bit, just use emery boards, files or sand papers. Buy it!

The quality of the knife is absolutely beyond expectation! Solid, heavier than other knives of the similar price. Extremely sharp and cutting meat effortless! Highly recommended!

Very good edge retention. Although I have not used for kitchen much..it chops twigs and wood very very well. Much better edge holding than tramontina machetes..which I think they are too soft for wood..as they as designed for soft vegetation. I'm sure it can cleave chicken bone, pumpkin, of whatever tasks the kitchen needs. I tried a lot of so called cleavers from Amazon..and most will not chop wood without damaging the edge. This beast is so freaking strong..does absolutely no damage. It's the perfect survival tool..just pair it up with small 3 to 4 inch skinner, and felling axe, and large saw. Felling can be used to split wood in a pinch too. It by itself won't be the all in one survival tool that does everything well..but it is sort of like the jack of all trades.

I liked the balance, the weight, the sharpness, material quality blade and handle, handle is not smooth it has some small ripples for grip, blade is mirror finished 440 stainless, brass rivets, nice storage pouch, nice box, would be a great gift at a very reasonable price. This is a top quality item, period. I use 2 of them to chop bar-b-que at pig pickins, whole hog or shoulders and butts, these chop them all. I do not usually do reviews due to censorship, but some items deserve it, this is one of the few.

Love it for chopping meat and vegetables. It's a strong knife that cuts prep time WAY down. Great value.
