Since finding my love for hockey romance, I've been searching for another one that *HIT* how it needed to hit, and I just found it 🥹 I fell in love with Easton from the get go. He is the sweetest, most cinnamon roll, protective, badass, top tier book boyfriend material.I feel like we really got to see the natural progression of Maya and Eastons relationship and I absolutely loved that about Veronica's writing.I have to say - I was on edge waiting for the dreaded unnecessary third act breakup and *round of applause* IT NEVER CAME. This couples story was so perfect and I can't lie, I truly miss them already 🥺 But I'm SO. SO. SO. excited to see how the rest of the series plays out!This was exactly the light, fun, spicy read I needed but still managed to deal with the sensitive topic of grief and loss insanely well. The relationship between Maya and her Granddad hit me hard (in the best way) because I too lost my Granddad - he was like my father figure - and he taught me to ride horses. So reading this book made me feel closer to him in the weirdest way, and process and understand the loss I've felt in the past.I am obsessed. Truly. A perfect hockey romance, a new instant rec and instant buy author 🫶

Say hello to your next book boyfriend, everyone, because holy-freaking-moly, Easton freaking Blake! 😍Iced Out has been a HIGHLY anticipated read for me, and it did not disappoint! In fact, it topped my high expectations because it is THAT good. I devoured this book in one sitting.Easton Blake is the hotshot captain of the Heston U hockey team determined to make his dream of playing in the NHL a reality. One night after a rough loss to a rival, he notices a girl who caught his attention at the game dancing on the bar. The night ends with her leaving the bar over his shoulder. Come to find out, the sassy mystery girl turns out to be his rivals little sister who is not interested in hockey players.Easton Blake is nothing if not goal driven and determine when he sets his mind to something, and his goal is to get Maya to give him a chance. Slowly but surely, he breaks down her walls and becomes her friend before becoming so much more. 💙I love the way Easton loves Maya. I love the way he takes care of her when he knows she needs him. I LOVE the way he doesn’t hesitate to choose her over hockey, because he knows she’s his forever.Also, I related to Maya so strongly. First, with her mind and how anxiety (especially at night) can steal you of your peace. Second, with her sassy defense mechanism. But lastly, probably the one way I don’t want to resonate with her on, is how she lost her grandpa. I lost my grandma in a very similar fashion and when I tell you I bawled reading that part. My heart shattered for her!! (And if you read my last book review, I never cry when I read. But the last two books I’ve read are 2 for 2 on that, maybe I’m turning over a new leaf).This is such a beautiful love story. And it’s a hockey romance. AND there’s no third act break up. Win! Win!! WIN!!!The supporting characters are great, and I cannot wait to get the opportunity to read all of their stories! (Especially Noah, Cameron, and Theo’s hopefully🤞)Cannot recommend this book enough. Beautiful start to an amazing series! I cannot wait to head back to Heston Lake very soon.And if you haven’t checked out the prequel, Trick Play in the 2023 Billionaire and Babes Edition, I 10/10 recommend Alex and Lainey’s sweet story as well!

Maya ha detto addio ai giocatori di hockey, non ne vuole più sapere dopo la sua ultima storia finita disastrosamente. Ma quando cattura l’attenzione del capitano della squadra di hockey dell’università forse dovrà rivedere il suo fioretto.Prima volta che leggo qualcosa di Veronica Eden, continuerò sicuramente con la serie.Mi è piaciuta molto la sua penna, e ultimamente sto apprezzando tantissimo l’abbandono del third act breakup, che appunto qui non c’, e sarebbe stato assolutamente non necessario vista la maturità con cui entrambi i personaggi affrontano le varie situazioni.Maya soffre d’ansia, e mi è piaciuta molto la sua caratterizzazione, anche se avrei voluto vedere di più perché a volte viene solo accennata e diventa quasi una scusa per Easton nel diventare iperprotettivo nei suoi confronti.Troverete dello yoga con delle capre, e penso sia una delle cose più belle di questo libro.Adoro quando il protagonista maschile diventa ossessionato dalla protagonista femminile sin dal primo sguardo, ed Easton non è da meno.Avrei voluto qualcosina in più: mi è sembrato il classico sport romance senza infamia e senza lode. Nel complesso mi è piaciuta comunque la storia e la consiglio se volete passare una giornata in compagnia di un giocatore di hockey completamene andato per la sorella della sua nemesi e una donna forte che nonostante tutto si rialza senza mai guardarsi indietro.

EASTON BLAKE has definitely made it to the favourite book boyfriends' list.Easton Blake (MMC) and Maya Donnelly (FMC) were destined from the first to be together. I loved their dynamic and how they were able to keep a healthy balance within their relationship and among other things going on in their life. Maya, she was a strong, beautiful character who has a huge heart, she loves her family especially her grandpa, she works with animals and has a disdain for hockey players and vows never to date another one again. Easton was absolutely everything, I loved his flirty & playful personality and the way he never once gave up on asking Maya out and tried to get to know her even though she had sworn off hockey players after a previous breakup. I loved how Easton was always they for her during all the highs and lows, doing everything he can to care for her was amazing to see.I love how we got to see glimpses of Easton's team mates and how they've all got each others backs and are like a family. I need there to be a book on Madden, he seemed so mysterious and like liust need to know his story. This book was filled with many spicy scenes, flirting, and hot banters.
