Q: Anyone know how to firmware update this adapter?

Firmware upgrade steps: 1. Power up the adapter, it is recommended to use the charging only port. 2. Connect the dongle's wifi with the password "88888888". Open Safari and enter "192.168.1.101", then click "Update". 4. On the same page, you can also fill in the car make, model year and details of the problem, then click "Submit" to report the problem. Our engineers will record your problem and look into possible solutions. Once the update is complete, please reboot your phone once before using the dongle. *If the update fails, please try turning off the Bluetooth function on your phone, then turn off - restart the wifi function once and finally re-enter the wifi password to connect to the dongle wifi and perform the update. Ps:1. If the dongle works normally, it means the current version is suitable for your car. In this case it is not recommended to update the firmware to avoid any problems. 2. If there is a problem after the update, please "restore factory settings".

Q: Will it work if you haven't paid Mercedes for car play

If you can use Carplay properly, for example, you are now using wired Carplay mode. Our dongle will allow you to implement wireless Carplay mode.

Q: Any loss of sound quality when using this?

I can honestly say the sound quality is good as the product it self it an amazing piece of kit

Q: Does my car need to have Apple play for this to work?

Yes. This just allows the phone to communicate to the CarPlay enabled head unit
