My Hearing Aid Journey
Let me start by saying I am very happy with my Lentorgi OTC hearing aids! I tried my son-in-law’s $3,000 top-of-the line hearing aids for comparison, and they didn’t work any better than mine do! I’m giving these a 5-star rating for quality and function.I discovered that adjusting to hearing aids is a learning curve. Here are some things I wish I had understood better to start with: In order to have a successful experience with hearing aids, it is SO IMPORTANT to understand that there are some limitations that go with them. If you expect immediate perfect hearing, you will be disappointed. My son is an audiologist, and he told me: “I'm glad you are adjusting to your hearing aids. Having appropriate expectations will help you have a positive experience. They are "aids", not "fixes". They should help you, but nothing can make your hearing like it was in your younger days. There is a bit of a learning curve with hearing aids, yes, but in general I would not expect things to continue to get better over time. You will still need to manage your environment: sit close to conversation partners, ask people to slow down and speak clearly, etc.”He also explained to me that as you age, not only does your hearing decline, but also your processing time increases, so you can’t comprehend what you are hearing as quickly. That’s why you need people to speak more slowly - so you can understand and process what they are saying. My nephew sells and adjusts hearing aids and gave me the following helpful suggestions:1. Wear your hearing aids every day so your brain can make the adjustments to hearing effectively with them. It takes some time for your brain to relearn to prioritize and screen background noise.2. If you pair your hearing aids with Bluetooth (which is a great benefit), the batteries will run down faster. Recharging them for a short time in the middle of the day helps. Your case is already charged, so you can use it without plugging it in for this.3. You will probably want to leave your hearing aids on the standard setting most of the time. These suggestions all helped me a lot, so I’m passing them on to you. I’ve had my hearing aids for a month now, and I feel like I’m finally getting well adjusted to them and can see how much they are helping me. I’m very pleased with this brand. It is high quality, and I recommend it to you!Two suggestions I have for the manufacturer: Include a longer charging cord. The one it comes with is so short that it doesn’t quite reach to a plug. Also, the case is difficult for old fingers to open, but so was the case for the expensive hearing aids. Is there any way you can make it easier to open?

Lame.
My last pair of rechargeable hearing aids finally died out so I’m comparing these new ones to them. These are amplifiers only. The sound quality is not that great and only the volume can be adjusted. (Yes, I know of the 4 different program modes…they are all poor sound quality.) The location of their microphones also causes some annoying feed back occasionally. On the plus side, I like the recharge package but you definitely need to shut the hearing aids off otherwise they won’t recharge. But they do hold a charge for all day use (+12 hours). The case latch is awkward to open but the positioning magnets inside rapidly align the aids for recharging.

Didn’t work correctly. And I already agonized about which one to buy
Initially it sounded like bad reception on a radio. Then checked manual which said this could be a bad charge. Instrument is fatter more bulky than most. Back on charger where it charge for days. Tried again and clear…which only lasted an hour. Right ear seemed to work but left never said “power on”. It did say “power off”. Couldn’t clearly tell what was on or off although more than left ear. Overall couldn’t tell what was supposed to be happening. Sound quality is poor. I’m returning. Only paid around $250 and now will stop being cheap to buy Lexie for $1,000. Didn’t want to finance but I respect Bose quality even if they are new to hearing aides. There is no good comparative information to base decisions on theses products.

Don't waste your time
One worked for a month then it broke. The other one works on and off. The battery charger is inaccurate. It will die without notice when you plug it in to recharge it looks as if it is already charged. Not worth the money and to late return.

Stoped working after three weeks
As a hearing aid it is adequate though not great. The buttons are easier to use than the $1600 hearing aid from Costco. I like the fact that the two units are completely independent. I tried one in my ear with the largest hearing loss and my brain made both ears sound much better. I didn't know that could happen. One annoying thing is that if you fully charge the individual units and then leave them out of the charger for a day, they run out of charge even though they aren't used. I would need more testing to verify this. However, both sides stopped working after wearing them about twice a week for three weeks. First the right side stopped. A few hours later the left side stopped. The product is made in China but fortunately it is warrantied for 30 days from Amazon so I did not have to rely on the two-year Chinese warranty. When they work, I would say they are worth the money for me, with 30%+ hearing loss in the high ranges. I haven't needed them in restaurants, but they are useful when watching movies at home.

Amplifies Everything Including Background Noise
These amplify the background noise along with everything else. They may be helpful for some folks, but in my case, they don't improve anything. Don't waste your money.
