A photo album perfect for your coffee table
I came to know this kind of photography through a news feed article, and immediately checked over the website where the author shows his work of cockpit photography. As a regular air traveller, I was fascinated by his photos at first sight. They were so excellent that I decided to get a copy of this photo album.Like any other photo albums available to buy, if you do not like the work of art inside, the purchase comes at very high cost without satisfaction. Therefore, I would like to give a brief description here to help those who are interested in this item. This photo album is bound in the hardback style and comes with an outer cover. The cover photo is a good example of what pops up ahead. However, it is just an example. The album includes a wide range of topics, from cargo aircraft walk-through, history before Jumbo Jet to his destinations as a cargo pilot. These stories are delivered through his lenses in the cockpit and on the ground in the 208-page album. I find the structure of the contents much better than a pure bunch of similar cockpit photos, and that came as a pleasant surprise with the unexpected chapters as I turned pages. This album is a perfect company when you want to relax beside a coffee table, which lets you peek both at the beautiful universe and at the marvels of modern technologies.

A great collection of unusual aviation and landscape photos
A lovely book, containing approximately 200 pages of high-quality photos. There are pictures of aircraft, airports, clouds & thunderstorms, sunrises/ sunsets, landscapes, the Northern Lights and others. The author is a Boeing 747 cargo pilot, with a keen interest in photography. Many of the photos are taken from unusual camera angles and/ or from the privileged vantage point of the flight deck or other airside locations, which is partly what makes this book different. The pictures are very atmospheric, and will appeal not only to aviation enthusiasts, but also to those with an interest in photography. Some pages also have a few paragraphs describing life as a pilot, which are interesting and add further value to the book.My only wishes are that Christiaan gave us more technical details of how each photo was taken (e.g. shutter speed, lens aperture, ISO etc.) and possibly that the book was printed on bigger paper.

Remarkable Images
An amazing collection of photos by a photographer with a very unique view of the world. Mr Van Heijst experiences of flying cargo aircraft from small prop planes to 747’s makes for some very engaging images: a remarkable collection of photographs from the cockpit.

A must have experience for any aviation fan.
If you are an an aviation fan, this is a must. If you are interested in photography, this is a must.If you are interested in both, DON'T MISS this one.The photos are all stunning, but what really makes it wonderful is the fantastic writing of Christiaan. From his personal thought about the life being a (cargo) pilot and flying such an amazing machine together with stories about the photos and where they were taken.I flew the 747 as a passenger, but I think this book is as close as it gets to actually sitting in the cockpit.

A good look into cargo side of the airport
A good look into cargo side of the airport. Photos are absolutely beautiful, writing insightful. Because this photographed and written by a pilot there is an authenticity to this book that speaks volumes. My only wish is that it were larger.
