After swapping the pickguard on my bass out for a black one, my white nut was standing out like a sore thumb.I ordered one of these, as I didn't want to go through the hassle of cutting a nut from scratch.When it arrived I was impressed to find the width, the string spacing, and the depth of the slots were a spot on match.Now obviously, some basses nut slots will be deeper than others, some basses frets are bigger than others, and some people will want to make their new nuts slots deeper, or wider for heavier strings...So I wasn't expecting it to fit straight onto the bass without any adjustment at all, but it actually only required about 2mm sanding off the bottom to match the height of the original nut, the easiest way to do this is to place some wet and dry paper over the fretboard and rub the nut up and down on it, whist keeping it perpendicular to the board, this ensures that the radius on the bottom of the nut matches the radius of the slot, however some p basses may have flat nut slots instead of following the radius of the fingerboard so check the shape of your old nut first, and if you're in any doubt about your ability to do any of this stuff yourself take your bass to a professional to get it fitted!

Depending on the depth of the cut to the slot on the neck you may have to file down the slots a touch for the strings to sit at the right height. But other than that this does the job
