I have never tried to polish a headlight before and have never been any good and polishing a vehicle either, but I figured out none of the pads in the kit was abrasive enough. I worked over an hour on one headlight with the pads in the kit and it was still not clear. I used 320 grit on a palm sander, switched to the drill and the roughest pad with McGuires #7 buffing compound (about 4 coats) and then used the finest buffing pad with (4 more coats) last one was with water. I switched to the softest pad and McGuires swirl remover, another (4 coats). It was so clear and some angles it looked like the glass wasn’t even there. It worked great

There is enough materials in the kit to complete the cleaning of about five sets of headlights.

This attachment worked well included all the needed grits, and the polishing went well, just remember to buy a good compound, I recommend 3M 1&2.

Comes with everything you need. I started this process in mid 90's when I was a Service Manager at a Mopar garage as the Dodge Intrepid I believe was one of the very first cars the headlight glazing started on. I can still hear the Parts Mgr telling me I better patent that now because they are all going to start doing it. I'm sure other guys are kicking themselves as well. But, well worth money. Recommended.

I purchased a headlight assembly from a salvage yard on Ebay. The pics of the product did not reveal the deep scratches on the lens surface (see pic 1). Before I might return the item, I decided to purchase this restoration kit. The grit on the sanding discs ranged from 1,000 to 10,000. The scratches were so deep I bought a 500-grit disc and worked up to 10,000 grit. The first 2 passes removed the scratches and the remaining passes smoothed out the lens. What you see in the after picture (pic 2) is before I even applied 3M lens clearcoat wipes. The light looks practically brand new now!
