You get a lot of vitamins crammed into these tablets!
These Patrick Holford multivitamins arrive in a very smart glass bottle with a metal lid - they certainly give off the feel of a premiums product. I've been taking one per day, although the label suggests two. I'm giving myself a little support with multivitamins, as my diet is generally pretty good. You get sixty here, so a month's supply of you're going by the prescribed dosage, or two months if you're taking them like me! These are pretty chunky tablets. I've not had much of an issue taking them, but if you have problems with large uncoated tablets these might not be for you. That said, they are easy to break up. I've experienced no aftertaste or strange stomach goings on from taking them. At eleven pounds currently, they're pretty good value.

Impressed by Patrick Holford’s Reputation, Hope for Good Results
For one reason or another, I take quite a few prescribed & non-prescription pills/capsules/etc these days, at age 79, so it is difficult to ascribe particular benefits to particular products. However, I have noted the high regard which many have for Patrick Holford’s knowledge & skills as an expert on human nutrition, so I trust that he has selected all the best elements available at reasonable cost for inclusion in his Optimum Nutrition Formula tablets. , so hopefully they are doing me some good. The pills I have yet to notice any particular improvement in my well-being since beginning to take them. As the pills are so large, I break them into 2, or if I am lucky 3, pieces before attempting to swallow them. I would have preferred the tablets to have been delivered in a plastic bottle as I keep my pills in a bathroom cabinet above the sink, which has previously been chipped (& since repaired, but not unnoticeably, by me) due to a glass bottle falling from the cabinet & smashing in the sink bowl. To avoid a recurrence with the Holford Optimum Nutrition Formula tablets, I have decanted them into a plastic bottle & transferred the labelling.

Very big tablets
As you can see from the photos this is quite a large tablet at 23x10x6mm, you'll definitely need something to wash it down and if you crunch it up it's not particularly pleasant. Apart from that, it is what it is: calcium, magnesium, vitamins B3, B5, C and E. The other vitamins (B7, B9, K2, etc.) are mentioned on the inside of the label. Are these tablets any better or worse than others available? I don't know. They're certainly the largest multivitamins I've tried, but if your diet precludes any of the ingredients of the smaller ones, these ones may be an option.

A Five Star Multi-Vitamin!
Patrick Holford has a long standing reputation in the field of nutrition and supplements, a fact which gives me some confidence in this product. It's certainly a broad spectrum supplement, and if I was going to take a multi-vitamin pill it would have to be this one! I've been taking mine for a few weeks and will be ordering more when the bottle is finished. The pills themselves are quite large, so some folks may find them difficult to swallow, and it does not hep that they are uncoated. A useful tip is to add one to a mouthful of chewed up toast or better still, banana. That way it will slide down along with everything else, and you won't notice the hard edges of the pill. Works every time for me! I think these are a high quality supplement, and they give me a wide range of vitamins and minerals at a decent price. Five stars.

Two a day
These tablets appealed to me because there are 26 vitamins and minerals in one tablet, which potentially saves me taking multiple different supplements a day (and remembering what I've taken, or not). Half of the ingredients are on a second label on the bottle, hidden underneath the back of the Nutritional Information label (peel off). I do find the tablets quite large and chunky and because they are not coated, I found them more difficult to swallow, and it is suggested that the dose is 2 a day. They are easy to snap in half though and I managed to take them with a glass of water by doing that. Apart from that, I had no unwanted after taste or side effects from taking them.

A High Quality Supplement
I am impressed with this product. Optimum Nutrition Formula is most definitely a high-quality, premium multivitamin and mineral supplement that delivers comprehensive nutritional support. This supplement combines a huge 26 essential vitamins and minerals which are designed to support energy, immunity, mental performance, blood sugar balance, and overall cellular health. What sets this product apart from others I have tried is its focus on optimal nutrient levels and the use of bioavailable forms to ensure maximum absorption and effectiveness. Key ingredients include a full B-complex, vitamins C, D3, K2, and E, as well as essential minerals like iron, magnesium, zinc, selenium, and chromium. These nutrients are particularly selected as they work together to protect cells from oxidative damage, maintain bone and muscle function, and also contribute to psychological well-being. The formula also supports stable energy levels and should help to reduce sugar cravings by promoting healthy blood sugar levels. The recommended dosage is two tablets per day, taken with food – one in the morning and one in the evening. The tablets are on the large size but are easily broken in half with your fingers, and they taste OK. Made in the UK, the product is also packaged sustainably in a recyclable glass jar. Overall, I have full confidence in the quality and effectiveness of this supplement. Optimum Nutrition Formula is a well-developed product that combines science with a high-quality formulation of ingredients. Highly recommended. For transparency, I want to clarify that I am under no obligation regarding what I can or cannot write. I always leave honest and unbiased reviews, whether they are positive or negative. Thank you for reading my review. I hope you find it helpful!

Excellent multivitamin and mineral range from renowned nutritional expert Patrick Holford
The yardstick for measuring vitamins and minerals is not only the amount of each nutrient present but how bioavailable they are, and this selection from nutritional expert Patrick Holford seems to cover all the bases by ensuring that not only are they in what is claimed to be optimal levels, but that they cover a decent range of essential nutrients in assimilable formulations. Another factor is that they’re reasonably priced so could realistically be taken every day without being expensive. Thus, they would make a decent daily staple. I’ll admit the reason I opted for these was the name as I very much respect Patrick Holford (as I’ve had some of his books for years and have recently been adding to my collection). If the same selection came up without the name then I may not have been quite so keen to try them. With Patrick being associated with these (or behind them) then it’s very much a plus. If anyone is unsure whether or not they’re getting plenty of vitamins and minerals in their diet and think supplementing may have advantages then it’s good to know these are available, especially as they’re UK-produced, and quality and batch-tested to ensure effectiveness. A slight negative is that they’re tablets (and fairly large at that) with anti-caking agents / fillers of Magnesium Stearate, Stearic Acid and Silicon Dioxide. I would prefer capsules without these, but don’t know if it would impact their effectiveness, so in this case I’m fine with taking the tablets. To conclude, I think the formulation is excellent and the product well worth the money but would ideally prefer another way of taking it to tablets (but, of course, many people won’t bother about this providing they’re getting the nutrients they need).
