Q: Is this safe for “s” upholstery?

Absolutely! I it all the time to clean upholstery

Q: Will remove permanent hair dye from carpeting?

I don’t think anything will remove hair dye. Tried this on a shirt that my husband got hair dye on from a dirty cape when he got his hair cut and nothing worked. But, this is marvelous stuff for normal stains.

Q: Is this safe on lining for a coat also is safe on leathers?

I would not use anything on leather that isn’t specifically made for leather. This is a wonderful all-purpose cleaner for clothes, upholstery, etc. I love it and even give it as gifts. It’s probably fine for the coat lining but you could test it on a hidden spot like the inside of a sleeve or backside of the hem.
