Great value Sturdy bag
My 10 yo son uses this daily. He has it stuffed with his things to the max. No issues with weak seams and he packs it heavy with his books and wooden book holder he needs for class, along with his cards, toys, etc..the wide straps are cushioned and comfortable for him. Lots of compartments for his needs. This backpack will last him a few years. and its a great value and purchase.

Good bag but doesn't appear rich and high-quality
This is nice backpack that is well-made. My daughter uses it for her school and she's able to stuff a ton of things without much hassle. All the sections are quite roomy. She has no use of the laptop section, but she stuffs books and folders which stay straight and don't bend due to the padding available inside.- There are no nonsense pockets hanging on the outside. Just two roomy sections to fit your stuff. Plus there are bottle holders on the side which are pretty elastic to fit thicket bottles as well.- The pockets on the inside are designed well to hold pens, smaller notebooks and other materials- The bag appears to be waterproof (although not tested yet)- The shoulder straps are padded, however, they are a bit thinner. For a kid that might be ok, but for adults that might be an issue. My only concern is that the overall look and feel is not rich. I have used High Sierra bags and the past but this appears to be cheaply made. It doesn't give the impression of a branded bag and definitely doesn't justify its price tag.

Great for traveling
This backpack is great for those who travel. It has a laptop compartment that has a good amount of cushion to keep your computer protected. If you are hesitant and still want to store your laptop in a sleeve, it'll still fit. The straps are also cushioned to avoid so much weight pressing down on your neck and shoulders. I would recommend using this bookbag as a personal item when flying because you have so much space that it's almost like being able to have two carry on items.

Decent bag, easy to adjust, spot for laptop, could use more padding
Neat and kind of unique pattern for a backpack. The straps are simple to adjust to suit your size or how you want it positioned. Has a slot in it for a smaller to medium size laptop and probably could fit up to a 17-inch laptop. Felt decent even loaded with things, though the padding between this and your back could be better.

Seems like their cheaper backpack
I have bought this brand before from Staples and Target and we spend a lot of money on them since it's a higher end brand and quality. I'm not sure why the black color is more expensive than the other colors when it's the same backpack and I feel this is more of the budget version, material a little thinner, so I think it's just okay. I probably wouldn't buy this version again since I do like some leather on the bottom and thicker fabric since my kids are hard on backpacks. There's a pocket on each side to hold a water bottle so that's a plus.

Basic lightweight backpack that could use a few upgrades
For the price, I was expecting a lot more from this backpack. It’s made of very thin nylon/polyester material with a honeycomb pattern. The main section has a dual zipper opening with a padded divider on one side. No other pockets in this section or USB cord/port, which has become the standard design for current backpacks. You could fit a computer, a few books, and a jacket/sweater in this section.A front zip open section has four open pockets and two pen slips. The material between this and the main section is super lightweight, ie, very little protection is provided. The front flap has an open slip pocket with short elastic strips on one side to expand the space. There are two stretchy net pockets on both sides of the bag for water bottles, thermos, or compact umbrellas. The back of the pack and adjustable shoulder straps are padded for comfort. There’s also a fabric loop at the top if you want to grab and go.For me, the quality of the material, ultra-thin lining, and lack of organizational and charging features were a surprise. In my opinion, this backpack is overpriced by a factor of two (in other words, its price is twice what it’s worth, based on the competition – and yes, just my opinion).

Review for: High Sierra Essential Backpack, Silver Heather, One Size (One Size, Silver Heather)High Sierra Essential Backpack, Silver Heather, One Size (One Size, Silver Heather)Very great price on this, considering today's times.I got this as a backup for my daughter that puts about 75 pounds into her backpack and lugs it around to school. We were not sure she'd like it but she immediately saw the brand high sierra and wanted it immediately. Then I noticed her existing backpack was also high sierra. That sure worked out.The mom was also wanting this if the daughter didn't. So they were fighting over it.Pros=price #1=includes reflectors which I had no idea. Great idea.=My daughter doesn't take a laptop to school but this is ready for further years when she does=great color for us, and works with many outfits (previous backpack color is black)=nice organization in the outer pocketCons=widely different in price depending on the color
