I have had similar products for a few years and the bulbs always go within a year. If you are lucky the zappy bits are still fine and you can replace the bulb.This unit is as robust, if not better than others I have bought and almost 50% cheaper. If that's not value then it also comes with a spare bulb!I just ordered a second while it is still on offer :)If it fails I'll post back with a frown.

We get a lot of flies living next to a farm and it's a problem in summer months. I read a couple of bad reviews about this product however it's not too expensive and thought it would give it a go.It's utterly useless, there was one fly which was caught over the period of 72 hours and it flew off when the tray was opened up.Honestly it's utter garbage.

Robust and well made bit of kit. Not used yet but appears to be well capable of doing what it's supposed to. Come s with spare UV lamp

I previously left a positive review for this and it is great for small bugs however please be aware of issues with larger bugs. I recently had this on in the front room and went in the bathroom for a few minutes, when I came out a large moth had gotten stuck in the grid (as it was too large to pass through) and there was smoke coming off where it was what can only be called “frying”, which in turn set off my smoke alarm and I had to rush the zapper outside as I was worried about smoke/fire.It has been fine up until now but do not leave unattended when on as if it attracts a larger but it could get stuck in the grid and cause similar issues.

A lot of the bug zappers on amazon appear to be low power or portable devices. This one is not. It has a really nice design and is larger than expected. Within a few minutes of powering this up there was a loud crack and i knew it was working. Over the space of a few days a many more loud cracks i was confident this was doing its job and is ready to take over when my "professional" unit fails or needs new bulbs. This zapper costs less than a couple of light tubes. It's a no brainer for me. Time will tell how this lasts but at the price i can afford to replace the whole thing every few months for the costs of my current unit :)

Bought this in November 2023. Was working well until yesterday when it just turned off and wouldn't turn back on 🙁Not sure if a refund is available at this late stage 🤷🏾‍♂️

Been using this for nearly a week now and it has killed ONE fly. In that time, i have killed 10-15 with the good old rolled up newspaper!!. Maybe it's not effective during the day but that's when we are in the room. I can't fault the design or build quality but it's simply not doing the job i assumed it would.

The first night I left this on I woke up to find far fewer dead flies than expected. I had left it sitting next to a mirror splashback in the kitchen, which made me realise the reflection was probably working against attracting the flies to the device itself. On subsequent nights I covered the glass up and on checking each morning have found it killed many flies, large and small. They were either sitting in the tray at the bottom of the device or on the worktop immediately next to it. Many of the really small , fruit fly sized flies seem to end up dead just outside the device, but I don’t regard that as an issue. Would definitely recommend.
